Aye, very true. I grow weary of the ever popular macho posturing rock band musicians sporting dreads. Adolescent males screaming to shallow, meaningless songs. "Look at me! look at me look at me lookkk aaaat meee!"
Soaring eagle you have so much advice and whole heartedly just want to help..You really should write a book..Im thankful that I am taking the time to read all I can before I start my long locks...
yea i would expecialy do a lotta research and look at all angles with hair as long as yours the very last thing id ever want to happen is to do dammage to yoir hair or have you make a misdtake that requires u to start over. i really cant wait to see how yoirs turn out no matyer what method u ultimately choose. but ..i would really recommend you try natural for a bit before giving up anfd trying other methods. just cause it will be so much gentler and healthier for your hair. mine were started natural nearky 19 years asgo, and ya wont find a single split end or dammaged folicule (except where they were stepped on repeatedly) and i trhink with such long hair you really should try to give em the best start u can aloptta these backcombers start short which is fine, then bleach dye bleach dye rub rub rub u name it, doing alotta dammage and thats ok, they are starting wiyth 3 inch dreads, by the time theyre 30 inches it wont matter if the 3 inch ends are screwed up or fall off, but yojr starting with 4 feet..you want to take the brest care of that u can. good luck dread gently
is it normal to have alot of loose hair around the locks in the early stages? they looked like locks at first, now it just looks like messy hair, will it go back into locks with time?
Great thread, but i think you should splitt Crochet and Felting Because felting does faaaaaaaaaar much more damage to your hair then crocheting.
