They wish to fit into the modern day hippie stereotype, which causes them to install dreadlocks into their cranium, wear patchwork clothes, and smoke marijuana. Its no different than a goth shopping at Hot Topic or a punk having a mohawk. Its an image.

There are plenty of us young hippies who actually try to do things to help out, you gardner, need to stop sterotyping, as far as I'm concerned you obviously don't know what you're tlakin' about, I don't see people who are constantly on the pc, alwats talkin' on cell phones, walkin' around in tie dye and listenin' to rock to be a hippie at all, hippie is someone who cares about nature, and our people, and trys to do things to help all of us. Instead of judging us how bout you show those of us who are interested what to do? Hmm

how can we act against the day to day corruption, deceit and depravity that exists in the institutions we as human beings have been brought up to believe in and trust?

hippies today, regardless of age - are painted with a stereotype of ridicule by those in position of control.. even if those of us who wanted to do something tried, the chances are we'd get brushed aside and seen as insignificant.. most probably laughed at and viewed as dellusional..

some people cannot accept the truth.. the world as you knew it is not the world that exists today, oh no!.. and i believe it's down to ignorance and people believing they think for themselves without actually doing so - because if everyone opened their minds a bit to what exactly is going on (and, indeed, has been for many years), i for one highly doubt the world would be in the state it's in today.
