As far as music without lyrics, early tangerine dream is pretty good, allot of ambient stuff is good for tripping. Then theres this one song that is AMAZING when your tripping. I listen to it every time I trip, and allot of times when im really stoned. Heres a link to it on my youtube channel... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-e5RvJ3lZG8

What about some of these songs?

The Beatles - Revolution #9, I am the Walrus, Only a Northern Song, Strawberry Fields Forever, Taxman

The Rolling Stones - Paint it Black, 2000 Light Years From Home, In Another Land

and def. Pink Floyd's first album, the Piper at the Gates of Dawn

As all the people have said before me, Pink Floyd's "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" is essential! Definitely ONE OF THE GREATEST, if not the greatest, psychedelic rock albums of all time!

But make sure you listen to the 2007 MONO remaster! The stereo version is like a bad surround mix with plenty of sound and vocal effects missing, and the band wasn't involved with the mixing at all! The stereo mix honestly sounds less psychedelic! :(

oh yeah! The whole dark side of the moon except Time and Money. Those smell of mainstream pop music.

"Revolver," "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," "Magical Mystery Tour" and the first half of the "Yellow Submarine" soundtrack are also amazing if you want to get into the psychedelic Beatles. (Although there are a number of songs on the albums themselves that aren't psychedelic.)

Just like for Pink Floyd's "Piper...", stick with the mono versions of the first two albums. The stereo isn't as badly mixed, but there are still a number of crucial elements missing, such as amazing effects on the chorus vocals for "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds". The band also wasn't involved with the stereo mixes for those two albums.

Google 'purple chick beatles' and something along the lines of 'torrents' or 'RapidShare'. They have it all available as high quality vinyl rips.

Or if you're a dedicated Beatles fan, wait until the new box sets come out in September. :D

I've been into Klaus Schulze recently, even when I just smoke pot. Most stuff sounds good on pot and acid, but there are much less music that REALLY goes with them, it becomes more part of the experience, than just a good song. I definitely cant explain it. Also, KS's music is over 20 minutes per track, which if you listen to on acid, it becomes almost overwhelming.

*I just noticed I replied to this a while back. I said tangerine dream is good tripping music, klaus schulze is really similar (he was with them for a while). Their both berlin school krautrock, although I find KS's music is more dark and intellectual, in a agood way.
