Just out of interest has anyone in this forum ever been to a barefoot wedding? I know they have nude weddings we have them here in New Zealand An American couple travelled from America to New Zealand about 5 years ago to be married in the nude, but has anyone ever been to a barefoot wedding sounds kinda cool.

The best man and I were both barefoot at my wedding; I attended a friend's wedding last week at the courthouse barefoot.

Not sure if these count; I've not been to a wedding where shoes where forbidden, but that seems a bit intolerant in and of itself...

Yes I guess you couldn't ban footwear since weddings generally include people from all walks of life and the last thing you want to do is upset or offend people. But I think a wedding described as footwear optional sounds like the next best thing and most of the women usually end up barefoot on the dance fllor at the reception afterwards anyway.

That's true. They do. Never has seemed fair. But last April, during one of our nicest northern springs ever, I had to be at a wedding. I began with the breakaways still with the hated long's zipped on, and black Chaco hiking sandals (clean). After the service but before the reception it was clear I could unzip the lowers and be in instant shorts, (yes!)and that was more than good enough for me. But later on I had doffed the sandals and mixed around, bare, from just above the knee to the tips of my toes. I had no problem with this especially since a couple of the young men had been in rather ragged and informal shorts attire throughout. I think I pull it off well, in my own way.
