I'd be surprised if this question hasn't been asked here before, but maybe that's just me. Anyway, when I'm making love with my girlfriend, I find that I actually remain pretty silent throughout the whole thing, and only really feel the urge to vocalize my pleasure right near the point of orgasm.
In contrast, my girlfriend is pretty vocal during the whole time.

So my question is, is it generally a turnoff when the guy stays completely silent? Is it even noticeable? Or is it all just a matter of taste and preference?

I love the sex sounds my man makes. He sorta grunts like an animal as he's thrusting. In another context it would be weird and creepy, no doubt. But during sex it's very primeval and earthy and I love it.

I like noise. I like to hear how its effected his psyche and how the urge is so strong that it cannot help but escape his lips. Silence just makes me wonder what's going on in his head and if he is even turned on.

It's so retarded when dudes don't make any noise. But it gets kind of annoying when they won't shut up, either, or try and say "dirty" things that are actually just hilarious.

I hate it when a guy is silent. If he isn't making noise, then how am I suppose to feel comfortable doing so.

    This ^

And if you don't moan then I think that it doesn't feel good. So yes, for me it's a turn off. It was one of the many reasons that I really didn't enjoy sex with my ex.

I definitely prefer noisy lovers versus quiet ones... It tells you that you're doing something right! I'm in an open relationship (with a rather non-vocal lover) and we welcome others into our bedroom. Anyways, the last time we had a girl over, I was the only one making any noise!! I had to turn some music on because it was damn awkward!!

Hearing a man moaning and groaning drives me crazy. Sometimes I masturbate thinking of past sexual encounters where the man was very verbal. My next to last fuck buddy was so quite that if it hadn't of been for his thrusting (and slight heavy breathing when he came) you'd have thought he was dead. When I mentioned it to him he said, "what was I supposed to do?". =/

My orgasms are not as good if I can't let loose and be verbal.

Shawn, I hope you're reading this thread. :)

My ex and I were in the middle of fucking when he said, "what are we doing?". I said "if you don't know then you shouldn't be doing it". He said, "no, I mean are we fucking or making love?".

    *blinks*

I had no idea what to say.

It only gets me cracking up if he's trying to be serious.

Actually, I'm always cracking up. I can very rarely take sex seriously. It IS the funniest thing ever. Probably even funnier than farts. I could come up with SO many examples it's ridiculous. I'm forever saying and doing absurd things.

Me and my friend used to try and subliminally osmosis personality traits into each other... he'd whisper shit like, "punctuality... motivation... pride..." etc, and I whispered back, "green bean casserole... deviled eggs..." Which prompted him to stop and say, "Great. I'm trying to make you a better person, and you're trying to make me fat."

I'm really, really bad at being "sexy". Shit's just too funny.
