My dad is a former yuppie. Along with all of his friends and family.

Not. Yippies were radical revolutionary hippys who were not afraid to make BIG waves. They rioted, stole from the system, threw pies at politicians.

Yuppies are the elite of today. They sold out to the theory that appearances and money are everything.

 

i did recognize that what i quoted was a bitch-slap, trying to make them seem ineffective, and people to make fun of,

it was just that, in view of what they had done,

and how they presented themselves,

it was HILARIOUS! :rofl:

AND, i suppose, the some of the first proof positive that the media bore a definite bias against revolutionary activity, of any sort.

 

What happened to the yuppies? They invented derivatives and hedge funds, they coined the term outsourcing, and made consulting a viable profession. They turned the Cayman Islands into a corporate banking oasis. In short they are responsible for the mess we are in today.
