I went into pier 1 today to buy a pillow. And I bought it and everything and then the second after I bought it I noticed that it said on the label that it was filled with duck and goose down. So literally 2 seconds after I bought it; my receipt hadn't even printed yet, I had to return it because down is sick. Very very sick. And I most certinaly don't want that on my bed.

    Down sucks hardcore.

Stupid rant... how to make it better... emm... tell me your down experiences!

Actually I didnt even know what "down" meant. All I knew is that it meant a comfortable blanket. But since I have found out, I could never ever use another down product. I still dont know much about the process though, I definatley need to do a little research on it.
When I went veggie and started reading about food ingrediants and such, I was shocked at how much animals are used in everyday products.........makes me ill.

not only can the everyday use of animal and death products make a person a seem ill, but it can also be difficult trying to function within a society that doesn't seem to comprehend that some people find these practises offensive.

There are plenty of alternatives to down that aren't hard to come by.
Originally they were intended for people with allergies (to feathers, ashtma or whatever) but are good for everyone else too.
Of my two pillows one is down and the other foam. We already had the down and it would be wasteful to get rid of. When the time comes I shall replace it with cruelty free version.

if it's 7 years old and you didn't notice till now then i wouldn't worry about it! down sucks hardcore, but it's not like you purposely went out and bought it.
