'lo :] A few months back i decided to "get dreads" , and back combed the crap out of it (Luckily no wax because of this forum) but after seeing all the time and lack-of-work some people have put into them, i just felt shitty about mine and combed out. So, after a little while wondering if i could have the same dedication as some of y'all out there, I've decided i'm ready and stopped combing a few days back, and just going the no-comb and patience route. So heres a few pics of the the start of my journey, nothing really to say about it yet except i hope that one day i can look back at these and have some memories about my dready beginning! (and im very sorry about the large pics.. ill work on getting those resized)
Ha, sadly my name is a lot more boring than Algernon. However, i love the book 'Flowers for Algernon' , so thats where i got it from. And i'm Texan born and raised.

Aaah so it's a sci-fi referance; and there was me thinking of Oscar Wilde. Doh And yeh make sure you keep us updated on the progress. The all-natural route is a mystery to many!
Thanks SoaringEagle, I've read a lot of your posts before and they've been real helpful so hopefully i have the idea down. And ill post a two-week picture, and if i forget, poke me.
i wish i would have decided to go down the knotty path a few years ago, when my hair was alot longer.
mine started good bit shorter then yours. doesnt matter when u start as long as u start when your ready
my hair is a couple inches shorter then yours. I started going the natural route about 5 months ago, and I have a few solid dread type clumps and random knots. I still need more length though. Good Luck with your journey.
