Does anyone watch this show? Its on HBO... I absoulutely love it!!! If you don't watch it, you should probably give it a try. It's about polygamy, a husband and three wives. Its so interesting to me! If you DO watch it, lets talk about it!!! I was trying to decide my favorite wife... either Margie or Barb.... I think Nikki tries, but not very hard.haha. lemme know what you guys think!
I have never missed an episode (thanks to DVR). I thought at first that I might not like the series, since I never had any interest in polygamy, but it won me over. It is so well written and acted. The people on the compound remind me of some of the non-Mormon christian fundamentalists that I grew up around in North Carolina. I admire HBO for having the guts to portray religious fanatics as they really are. They don't sugar-coat anything, and neither do they oversimplify the personalities or the relationships. Everything is terribly complicated, like it is in the real world. Has to be Margie. She has such a great attitude about everything. I wish I knew more real people like her. I don't think her family appreciates her nearly as much as they should. She isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but with her sweet and genuine personality, who cares? I feel bad for her because she is too young to be weighed down with so much responsibility. I can't stand Nikki because of real people she reminds me of. No matter how wrong she is, she always seems to think she's better than everybody else, because of things that really don't matter. Maybe I've already reached my lifetime tolerance limit for that personality type.
I have watched two seasons. I was worried about it because I was kind of raised on a compound like the one that the lead character's father and mother lives. It scared me what the show might bring up. However, I really like it. Now if only my library would get season three.
I love this show... however I accidentally watched season two before season one. I didn't even know there was a third. I'll have to find that!
