I just want to take a little mini-poll with the hip-forum people.

Who are you voting for: Kerry or Bush? And why are you voting for that person?

    Here I'll start with mine:
Kerry. Bush has done nothing good for this country and I could list a million examples of things, but everyone already knows them. While I don't see Kerry as particularly outstanding, he believes in women and has the potential to become a great leader. That, and he's our only chance at getting Bush out.

Bush...because he against abortion...and he makes decisions and sticks by them. I don't want my taxes to go up either. I don't really like either, but better the devil you know than the one you don't know. He appears to me to be the lesser of two evils.

And you might be right about Kerry...I just don't want to base my vote on someone, because they are running on the I'm not Bush platform. Thank you for not cutting me up for deciding to maybe voting for Bush. I appreciate the conversation.

no i definitely wouldn't cut you up. not at all, everyone has their own opinion. I'm just glad youre not a Bush worshipper who thinks that everything he does is right, as I've met way too many of them. Thanks for doing the same for me

No problem, most people try to convince me to vote for Kerry all the wrong way. So thank you. I value everyone's opinion. I just want everyone to vote no matter who it is. I try to concentrate on the issues that are important to me like abortion, taxes, and the right to have guns. I don't think we should of went to war, but I think Bush got us into this mess he should get us out. I'm not to sure the soldiers would want to fight for Kerry.

I'm glad you value everyone's opinions and i respect you so much for wanting everyone to vote. it's, in my opinion, the most important thing you should do. Why let someone else decide for you? I'm only 18, and couldn't wait to register. It's so awesome that we have a chance to actually have a SAY in what happens to our country, as so many other places don't. Alot of people take it for granted, but it's really a privilege.

I don't think the soldiers would want to fight for Kerry either, but I don't think they want to fight at all. I think we should fix what we've done, and get out of there. With all the attacks on our soldiers, we shouldn't be trying to rebuild their lives, their homes, their anything. They have a way of life over there. Sadaam Hussein is gone, and I really think that's the best we can do for them though I wish it was different. It's not really our place, and I'm sure soldiers get mighty sick of it too. The citizens complain about them taking action, but when they don't its like "why werent you here to protect us?" I know alot of the soldiers support Kerry, just because they are furious with the fact they even have to stay there.

Not only that, but I believe we should have someone in office that can start restructuring our economy. I believe that all the money Bush was putting into "no child left behind," went to killing women, and children in another country rather then helping ours. America could be so much better if we'd put the money that we've used for a useless war into our country in positive ways.

I'm so glad i finally found an intelligent person to talk about this with!

You just summed up everything I was thinking. I'm glad to hear that you not going to be telling me how stupid my opinion is. Yes we got rid of Saddam let's get out. No one else needs to die. They can decide how they want to live now. And I also have found someone who is intelligent to talk to about this. Thanks a bunch. I'm glad to hear you'll be voting!

Ok you two, the motel down the street rents by the hour....

Anyway, my vote will most likely go to Michael Badnarik of the Libertarian Party. This is my first time voting and I thought a lot about it. I followed the last four years pretty closely and watched all the debates as well as a third party debate. I've considered myself a libertarian for years but never really considered the party as a viable option, but I realized that a vote is more wasted if you compromise rather than vote for what you believe in the most. I reject the evil and the lesser of two evils. Why settle? I broadened my perspective and came to the conclusion that as long as people compromise the chances of getting a major party candidate who represents them will always be slim to none. When more people lose the four year hysteria and vote wisely, we'll begin to see better representation. If you want to vote for fundamental change, don't vote for Kerry or for Bush, unless you're a party whore.

I'm voting Badnarik too, I decided. He is a friend from work, and good person. He is the only candidate I know personally, and I know that he has the public's best interest (and not his own) at heart. I could trust him more than any other candidate.

I am voting for Kerry. I feel really guilty after campaigning for Nader in the 2000 election, after seeing the effect the Bush administration has had on my friends and family, not to mention the entire world.

I have some major Karmic issues wrapped up in this next election, and I doubt I'm the only one. I wonder sometimes if people take their power in the world serious enough. When I mix with people my age I feel like I am living in a blase' sitcom that won't end, not like I am talking to people whose decision on the next election will decide the course of the entire world for the next four years.

All I can do is ask people to think really hard about who they want to vote for. Go to both websites and see what their plans are for America's future, decide what sounds the most believable and doable to you, and think hard about everyone who will be affected by your decision.

Take care:) Love you all whatever you decide.

I'm going to wait for another election to vote for a third party candidate. Can you imagine an "Anyone but McCain" campaign?" Also, any third party candiate will probably be hurt more than helped if they get under the five percent but enough to make people question said candidates effect on the race. People might end up a little to angry to even give him the time of day next time. The way many people feel about Nader I doubt they will ever trust him again.

    I could go on .................

Although I dont agree with everything he has done. For the most part I think he is doing a good job. A lot of people want to fill your head with negative nonsense about both candidates. The smear campaigning is just awful. Makes me sick. Most of it is speculation and lies. I stick mainly to political veiws. And bush sticks with his veiws. No Flip Flopping.
