Yay Dave! Good job saving the dog! Congrats to you and KC on getting a new member in your family when the puppy is weaned! We had a male black lab. He was a great dog! He loved to play fetch and was the perfect family pet. He was a great guard dog, too. He'd hide if you had a gun or fireworks! Not a good hunting dog. He was scared shitless of the noise! I usually prefer a female dog, though. Honestly, it's probably the temperament of the dog that really matters, not the sex. My daughter has a purebred dachshund female. She is truly retarded. Perfect looking, just plain retarded. She's one of those whiny dogs, too. Seriously, retarded. We found out that her father was also her brother, and another dog in the litter was even more severely retarded. The sister dog has front legs that bow one way, back legs that bow the other way, crossed eyes, and other visible defects. I guess it's common for breeders to practice this type of inbreeding, but it's sad. Although my daughter's dog is mildly retarded, she's not visibly abnormal. I feel really sorry for her, though. And it pisses me off that these people, the breeders, are such unfit pet owners. The mother is pregnant again, with another litter from the same mother/son combo, because they won't get them fixed. Now the severely retarded sister is old enough to have pups, so they will probably have babies with her and her brother/father. GRRRRR My daughter's pup was born in October, so this is just totally careless pet ownership. Sorry to jack your thread. Here's Daisy, the retarded Dachshund.
ha! Yeah my retarded dog was physically beautiful and perfect but man, this dog was pure stupid and couldnt even bark right it did this god awful wail. ugghh I grew to despise that dog.
I was at my sisters house one day, and this kid came running down the road screaming and crying his brains out. He was holding a little black puppy, and he said that his daddy drowned the rest of the litter and he rescued this one last puppy. We took the dog, and the kid ran back wherever he came from. She was a beautiful black lab, and as she grew up you could tell that she had a lot of pit bull in her. She had the temperament of a lab, but with the stance and jawbone of a pit. I LOVED that dog.
Labs Are One Of The Most Loving Dogs You Can Own. (after they get through that mad puppy stage). Enjoy Your New Friend. Cheers Glen.
Un till now labs have always been my favorite dog. My cousin/roommate got a bullmastiff, and she is honestly the best dog that I've ever been in contact with. She was suppose to be full blooded bull mastiff, but after a trip to the breeder at 10 months old, he was told to take a DNA test. She was found to be part German Shepherd and part Golden Lab. I swear that girl is the best damn dog....And I've been around a LOT of different types of dogs. My sister is giving her Jeep to our cuz, for $500 and two of Athena's pups....one Male (for me) and a female for her. Ziggy and Marley, we've already named.
I've only been around one mastiff. My brother-in-law has a big lovable girl that goes everywhere with him and even has her own backpack (made for dogs!). That's a cool dog.
I have a black lab, and I cannot wait for the retard to die. Unfortunately, the vet says he looks like a 3 year old, he's really 9, and he should have many years left. Asshole. Really, I hate hate hate labs. I would prefer a cat over a lab, and I don't like cats much either. They are the dumbest dogs ever.
She is the most loving dog I've ever been around. 'Cept right now she's acting like a bitch. She's in heat for the first time and just doesn't understand why we make her wear depends.
