is this a good starter idea?

Hey i was on youtube a while ago and saw a video where a guy made a sprinkler set up using a 5 gallon bucket, a water pump, tubing and etc. i was wondering if any of you could look at it and tell me if this would support a full weed plant and nourish it properly. i just want to know if id be wasting my time trying it only to find it for smaller plants.

PS he uses a fogger for aeroponics (good idea or no?)
