He's certainly no more of a dumbass than any other talk show host. You're going to hear more truth on his show than you ever will from Rush Limbaugh or any of the Left wing, Air America hacks. The problem with Jones is the way he gets the information across. Much of it is accurate, but he presents it in such a sensationalized and overtly dramatic way, often resorting to outright fear-mongering, that it's hard for a lot of people to take him seriously. He rants and raves and just comes off in completely the wrong way. I also feel he is more concerned with making money than providing the real truth. I listen to his show from time to time, but I don't consider myself to be a fan or anything. However, there are people out there much worse than Alex Jones. By talk radio standards, Jones is a heck of a lot better than the rest. I find him somewhat difficult to listen to because of his voice and all the ranting he does.
Kind of a bummer that the state of affairs with the media has gotten to the point where people are debating which talking head's koolaid doesn't taste quite as bad as the others. .
Definitely agree with comparing him to any other right wing talk show host, really most popular ones which get positions in the media tend to be douchebags, maybe a result of their egos, but mostly I think the inability to be diplomatic or honestly consider the ideas/opinions of others. I don't know that a lot of his ideas are really invalid, I don't know that anyone can prove him wrong on some of them really, but yes, his delivery is hell 'Gree ahaha, touche I suppose
