Whats the differents between like wool and cotton, and does it really matter? cause ive seen ........ ( me again looking at stuff i cant even use yet) some tams that i like but all are in cotton and i recall reading that wool or what ever other fabric is better. So why? Only thing i can think of is that it might be softer....

    uhhhhh. space taker upper...

this one place has like mesh tams for summer time... i think its cotton tho but its got gaps... idk pretty cool... but random.

waddya think about a rasta tam? idk... im pretty sure everyone would say "Your Not Rasta!!!" ect, ect... well actually they would be more like "YOUR NOT BLACK" -ohhh people.. -but idk. I love the colors, and alot of rasta beliefs.
    all one love like.ital

people usually recommend wool because it helps your hair knot up. i have a loose weave tam for summer, it's made with both hemp and wool. it usually doesn't get too hot! then again, i live in new england...

hemp would be cool. yeah summer is hot here... (I think so anyway...)
wool seems like it would be extra hot in summer too lol.

wool is much cooler then having a fur coat of dreads hanging all around your body
tuckking the hair up in a tam, any tam will cool u down a ton
wool is also insulating, which includes insulating from heat
ive known steel workers who wiould wear all wool while smelting stealk because it protected them from the intence heat

but a loose mesh 1 for summer would be nice too
anything that gets tyhe dreads off my shoulders though is such a huge help
(i wear a t shirt most of the winter cause my dreads keep me warm)

ahh i didnt think of insulating from heat...
but i can see that it would be better then being surrounded by dreads lol.
idk id probably want my dreads to hang around alot, as long as im not sweating alot :)

and idk, how are dreads and chlorine? cuase i sort of swim alot in the summer sometimes... yes random and off topic but i dont want to start ANOTHER thread for it....? i dont think it would do any damage besides the fact that its CHEMICALS in your hair. - same damage as regular hair i assume

Check out some tams on etsy for a wool one.

I knit wool hats to use and I just think wool feels so much nicer and holds it shape a lot better, plus I noticed it seems to help my loose hairs stay down, or less puffy.

my tam is cotton, i like it fine.
i live in florida, i assure u it is hotter than ohio.
i dont have that long of dreads so they dont hang everywhere,
but i find it to be cooler just tying my hair behind my back rather than stuffed up in a hat.
    thats just me tho.

heres my tam, i got it off of etsy.

sooo read that as "smelting steak" and i was like wtf?! they smelt steak?! teehehehe =]

with regards to tams.. most 'wool' you buy in shops to knit into things is actually yarn, which is a man made jobby.. real wool is more expensive i do think
