I would like to say that at least television in general has finally allowed shows like hers on - there's been too many years of surpression of free ideas in the "land of the free". If you don't like it; ignore it or create your own...what ever it is. To embrace it and comment negatively on is to burn your own energy.

Anyways, I'm not particularly a Kat fan but I think shes an amazing tattoo artist. That I can appreciate.

I'm sure if all of your lives were televised there would be a lot of things people wouldn't approve of you doing. To top it off, I'm pretty sure Kat Von D could care less if you or anyone else she didn't know thought she was ugly/a ****. Shes rollin' in dough love her or hate her.

I love Kat, I think she's beautiful. Has a classic beauty, but with ink. I fricken love it.

Yeah she's gotten drunk while getting a tattoo.
She's even said she regrets airing that example on tv, we aren't perfect.

Kat lives the life style. Most artist drink and have gotten tattoo's when drunk.

Why is it that if a woman is anything but unremarkable-looking, (and this could mean shit-ugly as well as attractive) the relevance of her talents just fly out the window?! I'm not saying she's without fault, but really you guys...wtf?!

If she were a man, her appearance would never be discussed like they are being discussed here. Take Corey Miller, for example. People talk about the tattoos he does on the show, not how he styles his hair.

I think that the editing of LA Ink has a lot to do with the opinion that people have of Kat. The production of a TV reality show influences the perceived character of the cast.

Kat is a successful young woman in a male dominated field. She is highly talented. She also is young and makes mistakes, some of which are broadcast for millions of viewers.

While I think she is highly talented and beautiful, I would have to say that I would have reservations getting a tattoo in an environment where pets are welcome, and other safety concerns are not strictly enforced (like the drinking, for example.) When selecting a tattoo artist or studio, you have to do the research and should expect and demand the highest hygienic conditions and safety protocol.

However, the people who are personally attacking her and calling her names, should really give her a break. She's only human. You have to give her props for being herself and not conforming to societies norm to satisfy others.
