I can only think of cheap supermarket salmon and trout that's farmed?

Either way, if somebody cooked me food that contained animal in it, I'd eat it. Then afterwards I'd find a nice time to say I don't really eat it at home.

When I moved into my room at uni I never bought meat, because I didn't like storing it. I only ever ate meat when I was at home, because mum had already bought it :) After reading a forum or two on here, for a few reasons I decided to become veggie and considered going vegan :)

My main two reasons were 1) its dead flesh, and 2) I don't like the farming industries, or farming as an idea anyway.

I love the idea of eating wild meat, because yes its natural to hunt and kill to live. Its just I hate the industrial farms :( And fish farms too... I could eat a wild fish happily, or, a wild pig if I were surviving.

I have dreads, I'm a veggie against farming and I'd like to live in a forest and hunt and grow my own food :)

I am a vegetable and planning on going vegan when I stop breastfeeding Riloh. The way I see it is, if we can live without causing any harm then why wouldn't we?
I just adore healthy food though and adore cooking. I've been a vegetarian since I was 7. I'd love to be a raw vegan but it would take a lot of getting used to, we'll see:)my husband is a vegetarian too <3

vegetarian...lacto-ovo i guess. but aiming for veganism, that'd be the day im fully responsible for the insides of my fridge myself. so yeh, i dont eat meat or anything, but dairy is hard to avoid for now...i dont eat enough anyway :l i'd rather starve than put that shit in my mouth

i just go with 'live and let live' about the whole ethics thing, i know like 2 people that dont eat meat and the rest give me "mmmmmm want a bite? *shoves burger in face*" jokes daily..i just go ha-ha and wait for it to get old...for close enough to 2 years now

"I am a vegetable" haha alright Luxiebow ^_^ *eats you*

Im vegan, my partner is vegan, and my daughter is veg. I tried going vegan with Amara, but it was hard figuring out ways to sneak 50 grams of alternative proteins in her daily diet. She hates tofu, almonds, and lentils! Now she's a lacto-ovo veg. So its way easier to find recipes to give her everything she needs on a daily basis to grow strong and healthy. I was impressed because I used to give her organic, cage free chicken on occassion and when she turned 4 she told me that animals are her friends and she felt wrong eating them! She chose to go veg. Pretty cool. I just recently went vegan. I was veg for about 7 years....it was a long transition...but Im so glad that Ive done it. Its so much fun cooking vegan!!!! It also just feels sooooo flippin wonderful eating only what my body needs and buying locally and organically......I would loooove to swap recipes with anyone interested!!!!!

i forget who said they cry over wasting food..which i understand but the entire meat industry is based on wasting food..a cow eats tons of grains every year
and 500 cattle might live on 50,000 acres of land that could be used for growing food
i read estimates that if there was just a 20% decrease in the nmeat industry there would be no hunger anywhere in the world (not to mention cows create more greenhouse gaassses through farting then any other industry)

i lived and worked on a dairy farm just before going veggie
the farm was owned by a boxer and his family
    hed practice boxing punching cows
if the cows misbeahaved while milkning they would twist theyre tails till they broke..many had very crooked tails from multiple breaks
now i had broken my spine..its the worse pain u could possibly imagine
just imagine every nerve in your body torn apart at once
theres no pain that can compare
in addition, they used canes they would shatter over the cows skulls..splintering them ..and they used numchuks too sometimes
when calves or cows died they would just toss them over the fence to rot
to get into the barn for milking they had to walk through an area of liquid cow shit nearly hip deep
    it was so disgusting
and these ppl literaly ate a dozen eggs and a steak for every single meal
the cruelty was in theyre blood..they lived off cruelty so were quite cruel as a result
2 months later met my 1st veggie freind and just instantly knew it was the right way to go
i do still eat eggs and dairy just because it is hard to avoid but would love to go as far as being fruitarian (just fruites and nuts and seeds)

and if i didnt have such a sensative stomach id go raw foods too

ive eatten meat twice by accident in the last 20+ years and have never been so sick
your really not made to digest it..once your meat free a year or 2 its toxicf to youir system

i was veggie for 2 years while i was sick. I want to go back to being a veggie but it'll have to wait till i can move out to my own place and/or I get a job and can pay for food.

    lacto-ovo vegetarian, here :)
it has been the most positive decision directly affecting my health!
    i've never felt so wonderful.

i could definitely see myself going vegan eventually, or at least semi-vegan. i eat mostly vegan at home, i've found it's just really difficult when eating out or at someone's house.. i'll get there, though.

So what do you really think all these free cows are going to eat???? My guess the 50,00 acres of shit you just planted.

just for an experiment once me and a freind lived on only oranges for 2 months (after the 3rd week we had a plate of brown rice on fridays) and id never ever ever felt so amazing and full of energy
i literaly couldnt walk..i bounced and skipped everywhere i wejnt..every step id bounce 2 feet off the ground..not like a hyper energy either just so happy full of life andf energy
i wouldnt reccomend it long term as we stopped after 2 months but for a short while it felt so incredible

    nothing
cattle are no longer a natural species at least what we know as cows
they cant survive 3 days in the wild
no matter what they eat..they have been fucked over by humans for 5000 years till the cows we know today will die if they are not milked daily
perhaps if bred with less domesticated varieties and bison we fcould recreate a more natural breed but the ones we have today were never meant to exist as they do

but keep this in mind.. cattle ranches can go from horizon to horizon.. 500,000 acres for 5,000 cattle isnt uncommon
and another 30,000 (guessing dont got statistics handy) acres to grow food just to feed the cattkle year after year

you cant just return them tio thge wild, but by ending forced breeding and slowly stop\ing the industry thre herds would be thinned out to a managable level and introducing more natural cattle from india or bison you can slowly restore the species to one that can survive
off grasses leaves like cows should
as it is now they feed cows ground up cows mixed in with hops and grains full of hormones antibiotics and crap
ever wonder why they fart so much? theyre natural vegatarians being forced to be canibakls

cow farts cause more polution then all the factories..all the cars..it really makes no sence to keep the industry around at all

Thats how I feel as a vegan! I have so much energy and my state of mind feels clear for once! well...I think its due to my vegan diet and the 2-4 sessions of yoga I do daily!

I'm sorta half vegan :D I don't buy or drink milk anymore, the only milk I have is a splash in hot chocolate or cheese or ice cream. But my milk intake has dramatically decreased :D I feel so awesome for it :) <3 Oatly
