no, not if you just miss one pill..
but you should go get a pregnancy test, or get exaimed that way you will know for sure..then sit and worry..
Yes, the pill can cause your periods to be messed up, when either you first start the pill, or if you missed some pills then take them..

um, yes you can get pregnant if you miss one pill. Hell, you can get pregnant even when on the pill... it's only 99% effective and that's -only- when you take it on time, every day, without fault.

but, like shroom said - go get a pregnancy test or visit your doc.

but on the information they give you, ya know, the tiny folded paper that has tiny ass writing,:D that if you miss a pill just take it as soon as you remember and that you shouldnt get pregnant..but yes, you can get pregnant on the pill..so i dont know, the pill is complicated like that...you should use a condom too..

My hubby's and my first pregnancy happened while I was on the pill, and I just missed one dose. This happened before we were married. I ended up miscarrying when I was around 12 weeks though. :(

I don't trust those things, and I didn't like the idea of taking a pill anyways.

Early pregnancy symptoms, I'm pretty familiar with those, as I've been pregnant 4 times (I had 2 miscarriages, and I have an almost 5 year old boy and 17 month old boy and girl twins) Sore, swollen breasts, inner labia turns a flushed purplish color, increased "lubrication", nausea, extreme fatigue, lower abdominal cramping (as if you are going to start your period) sensititivity to smells, major mood swings, increase in appetite, frequent urination, a sensation in your abdomen that feels as though you did a bunch of sit-ups, a stretching/twitching in your lower abdomen, and bloating. I think that's about it as far as I can remember. ;) Oh, I did start to have some food cravings and adversions early on into the pregnancies, even before I knew I was actually pregnant.

Are you sure you're late? If not, how long before your period should start? You can get a HCG serum drawn (blood test) at your doctor's which can detect very early pregnancy, before you are even late for your period. Some doctors won't do them until you're late, but if you explain your concern, they might agree to sending you for some lab work anyhow.

You can purchase a HPT (home pregnancy test) that can detect very early pregnancy as well. They have ones that can tell you that you're pregnant before you even miss your period. I used those before, and I was able to find out that I was pregnant a week before I even missed my period. Word of advice, try and get a kit that has two tests in it. Some of the pregnancy tests tend to be kind of pricey, but it's really good to have another test on hand if you want to retest later on.

Good luck to you...I know it's stressful when you're not sure what's going on.

    Much peace.

you started on the pill 2 months ago right? That alone can mess up your cycle. So can the stress form worrying! Kudos to you for using a condom when you thought you may not be safe!! Wait until your a week late and then take a pregancy test. For future info.. ihmurria is right. the pill is not 100% effective and you can mess it up by missing a pill. Did you take it the next day or as soon as you remembered? Here's a few tips from someone who used to be on the pill:

-it can take up to 6-12 months to reach full strength in your body
-take the pill at the same time everyday. even if you take it one day in the morning and the next day you take it at night it can be harmful.
-whenever you miss a pill take it when it's time for your next pill and use a condom (which you did.. hooray for you!!)

sperm can live in your body for up to seven days...

it's not like you plan on missing a pill, but using a condom the day after you forget isn't totally effective (though it's still a smart move). any sperm from the previous seven days is still in there. if you're on the pill, it's a really really small risk of pregnancy, though it's obviously safest to use a condom with it.
