So I have an interview tomorrow w/ a place that on the application says they do pre-employment and random drug testing. However I have a friend who worked there 3 years & she nor anyone she worked w/ ever got one, including a pre-employment one, so it might just be to scare some people off from even applying. Now I'm obviously not going to smoke before hand just in case they do end up testing me. However, if you were me, once hired would u start smoking again (after a few weeks/month)? I know I'll pass the pre-employment one b/c I haven't smoked in a long while, but I would be super pissed if a few months down the road I happen to get high once & the next day I have 2 get tested b/c I'll obviously get fired. I have heard of some people who get told a little bit in advance, like a week or so, that they're going to get a test so they're at least prepared. So I was j/w who else has ever had a random drug test @ their work & how it went.
generally it's if you get injured on the job...what type of work? unless you're driving a vehicle all the time..don't worry just don't close your dick in a filing cabinet
Where are you applying? If it's walgreens or a pharmacy they WILL randomly drug test. Otherwise places usually won't, even when they say they will, because drug testing can be expensive and a process the employers don't want to deal with.
normally its just after breaks/injuries or suspicion your on drugs. your friends probably acted normal on the job and did a good job so they weren't tested i'd assume it would be the same with you esp. if its a chain or some place that doesn't want to fuck with testing.
It's a garden center that has about 5 total locations all in my area. The only job I can think of there that they would prob randomly drug test are the people who drive the forklifts around & shit, but I'm not doing that just b/c I wouldn't trust myself doing that sober, lol. but if I work in the flower section or as a cashier I wouldn't be doing that.
