    Hey guys

I saw an add about an exchange program between canada and australia for people who work in horticulture. I work in hort and have always liked your country.

Basically just wondering if it's easy to get a house to rent and if employment is relatively steady (considering the whole economic bullshit).

I like australia except as of late i've become disillusioned with the government and the publics outlook. The media in particular, i think are a disgrace.

Your country might not be perfect also, but i would also like to live abroad and get some life experience you know.

Always had the idea but didn't know how to go about it. But the exchange program might be a good way of meeting people (work contacts especially) and getting a good idea of what i could do blah blah.

    anyway cheers

    peace

    Depends where you go, really.

Some places, especially out in the West (Like Calgary, etc) are really growing in economy and pay 15$ min. Wage, and everyone's hiring, though cost of living is much higher, than say, Ontario, where a lot of car plants are recently closing, and many people are being laid off.

hmmm ok. Yeah cost of living over here is pretty expensive, but leave out things you really don't need and you can manage quite easily. Sorry to hear about unemployment going up. Pretty much the same is happening here, hopefully not for too long.

Well i've got a few years before i can afford to move over there (and things might change i guess).

    peace

I'm a Canadian currently living in Australia. I have no idea about horticulture, but you could try the working holiday program between Canada and Australia (it allows you to stay in Canada up to 2 years, and you can renew it until you're 30 or something like that). I'm from Newfoundland and I wouldn't strongly advise you to go there for employment unless you already have a job lined up, although it is a beautiful province otherwise.

The cost of living is cheaper in Canada, but so is minimum wage, just for the record.
