American Native prophecies say the third 'shaking' will happen when we have invented 'the gourd of ashes', the atomic bomb it is described as a device that will burn people up like grass in a prairie fire. we have a house in the sky. (space station) and one that many people laughed about back then. You would actually have to BUY water......how silly, huh?
I am well aware of that, but it doesn't make us worse than our predecessors. And you can say the pledge of allegiance, no one outlawed it. And there are no laws or acts that they want to pass that will make the mere utterance of religion against the constitution. Seems like you are just looking for things to get worked up about. Makeing them up, really.
generation after generation of christians shouting "the end is nigh" die of old age, much to their displeasure, as they thought they would be the ones to see the rapture.
You do seem just bit paranoid... People start turning from him? Hehe the majority of the worlds population never followed your supposed 'lord' to begin with...
yea, if anything, more people are discovering the radical edge of christianity (and sanity) now...with the increase of freaks speaking in tongues and literally interpreting 2 thousand year old fables I must admit maybe the end is here. ha
sera Michelle has a point... It is all perception.. I mean you may see these things, I may not, but for you to suggest that you are somewhat more mature because you can see them and I can not is absurd. I am a Christian, I read my Bible, but I do not see this mass increase of imorality.. I mean I see equal rights, a hatred of racism, an increas in care and compassion for my fellow man (in society) agovernment lead approach to eradicating poverty, more freedom to express your religion, (whatever it may be, and dont be fooled into thinking that just because other faiths have eventaully got parity and equality of opportunity, it means Christianity in its purest form is being persecuted- I mean Christ was all about choice, right?) The society I live in is a messed up as anyone elses, but it does have alot of good things too.. Sera Michelle says you are seeing what you want to see, id tend to agree with her.. it is your inerpretation of Revelation and End times you are putting onto the world... your interpretation of Christianity you see disapearing, and to be honest, I am glad it is.. maybe its just the end time of your perception, time to really search your hearts and see what CHrist was all about... He certainly wansnt about escapism. So give it up and live in the here and now, forget about predicting the end and focus on the reality of the world we live in.. I have said it before and ill say it again, I often think those caught up with escatology are obsessed ith escapism... This thread certainly proves my point... what good does it do ANYON to sit and try to predict something which we are TOLD by Christ, even He does not know!!! AGH... bloody Christians!! Just read MAtthew 25:14-30.. let those who has ears let them hear!
The flip of the magnetic poles takes a very long time and does not cause a cataclysm. The ice ages are extremely complex phenomena and are not dependant on the magnetic poles. Anyways, as Sera has been saying, if you look for clues and hints, you'll find them, because of selective attention. But, human nature has not changed at all. There is probably less violence today than 1000 years ago, when it would have been dangerous to walk between two cities. There is a large degree of order in the world, equality and human rights are on the rise (as someone said). Amazing that Europe, the place of perpetual war going back centuries, has formed a Union of countries and are working peacefully together! Open borders, for many of the countries! This is a bigger deal than many people seem to realize. So I don't see that we are worse than we've ever been, and I might even say we're actually progressing a bit. At least, the future looks bright, in my opinion. Just because we don't have a state religion doesn't mean we've turned from God (America is the most religious developed nation in the world), it just means we have decided we don't want another Dark Ages where religion rules the world. And isn't it funny how many of the terrorists are actually religious nuts clinging furiously to literal translations of their Holy Book. And anyways, Epiphany, you said God works on his own time and does things when he chooses...so why are you spending so much time trying to figure out when it will be? Should it matter? Or should you just be out there living a good life, helping people as you said you planned to? Leave God to his designs and you keep to yours, it's energy better spent.
I've never really focused much on whether or not the end times are near. In my personal opinion, it doesn't really matter. I don't understand why so many people are so focused on it. Who cares?!?! If you're a Christian, all that matters is that you follow Jesus and spread light and love throughout the world, and that you do your best to do what God wants you to be doing. So that's what I do. The rapture could happen tomorrow or it could happen another thousand or so years from now. It doesn't matter to me. What matters is living my life by my beliefs, and sharing the most important things, which is love. What mattters is what I will be doing when the rapture happens, if it happens in my lifetime, not whether or not I was able to predict that it's coming. If it doesn't happen in my lifetime then it doesn't concern me, so then what becomes the most important thing is that I live by my beliefs and I am happy, and spreading that to others. Either way, no matter when the rapture is going to happen, it doesn't really matter when. God said we aren't gonna know for sure when it happens and that's fine with me. In fact I think it's a good thing, because if we did know for sure, there'd be a lot of people just pretending to be Christians and lying to themselves about it only because they don't wanna be left behind... they wouldn't be worshipping because that's what they truly believed in, because that's what is truly in their hearts... they would only be Christians because they were scared, not because they truly wanted to be Christians. Not having a set date for the end times makes it easier for people to back off and not worry so much, and really decide if they truly want to be a Christian. Edit: Oh, and one more thing, whether or not you can see these signs doesn't matter either, and it is not a gauge of how mature you are or how much of a "Good Christian" you are either. It's simply a matter of whether or not you were meant to be one of the people that can see these signs. A brand new Christian and even those who aren't Christians could see the signs and a mature exemplary Christian may not see them. Whether or not you can see the signs has no bearing on the "level" of your Christianity... It's not some "status" you achieve... believing in God is just that, believing in God. Things just are. And for the record, yes I can see the signs.
500 years ago... many were thinking the day of judgement was at hand... in germany, the great reformer dr martin luther saw signs that the end of times might be near... and yet he said something like "if i knew that christ was to return tomorrow, i would still plant a tree today!"
St. Francis of Assisi was hoeing his garden when a student asked what he would do if he knew it was the last day, he said 'continue hoeing my garden.'
I am just pointing them out. Sorry, but I am a revivalist. When the Holy Ghost moves me to spread a message, I will spread it. I prefer not to leave anyone uninformed. As far as worrying... I am grateful that the Lord is coming back. I am worried for those who do not know him.
I had a vision today. In that vision a figure who claimed he was God told me that the end of the world spoken of in Revelations would come to pass on this upcoming Sunday. He said that the day was the two thousandth aniversery of a pivotal event of humanity. Any know what He was talking about? I'm kind of scared, but also happy, I know where Ima goin when I am judged. God loves me and I'm going to heaven. Everyone needs to accept Jesus in their heart by this Sunday... except European Mexicans, there's no hope for them.
You may not be making them up, but as i see it as other do here...If you look for them, you will see them......When you do not look, you will see....
