Well i have always liked having debate's with other people for some reason sooo here it goes.

The topic is....Legalization Of the Ganja.

And if your against it please please please join this debate.

    So here's my first start.

I think that the Legalization of Marijuana would help the goverment in many ways. Especially money and budget wise.
Say you went to the store and bought a pack of "joints" similar to how you get ciggarettes. The product costs lets say 4.25 a pack .25 of it being towards taxes. So if a store was to sell 25 packs a day thats 6.25 in just tax money. Yes that doesnt sound like much but in 2001 there were approximately 2 MILLION people behind bars. Each inmate cost's 52.90 $ a day according to google. Thats 19,308.00 $ a YEAR. So in the year of 2001 $38,616,000,000 of goverment money was used to house inmates with marijuana related charges. That does NOT include the cost's of utilities of the prison the cost to build it and each guard's salary. Tis money could go to much more important things such as hostpital's and school's.

I could continue but i wanna hear someone else's response first

p.s. i just now came up with all that haha i was brainstorming randomly.

your numbers don't jive, while there may be 2 million people in prison , they aren't all pot related.... check norml site for better numbers

but a large % are ... so instead of .25 tax.. make it $1.25
most stores run at 100% mark up anyway.. so they maybe charge $4 a pack.. but they paying $2... even at $10 a pack.. it would be worth it

don't count on much opposition here :sifone:

I think the federal tax if you get busted is $100 a oz. or at one time it used to be

year ago so it's greater now

With more than 2.3 million people behind bars, the United States leads the world in both the number and percentage of residents it incarcerates, leaving far-more-populous China a distant second

A lot has to do with the 3 strikes laws...it's fucked up.. tho some deserve it

but not for weed... that's bullshit

strong minimal side effect anti-convulsant, it not being legalized at least for medical purposes, ridiculous, and unconscionable
