nice bong. i'd get a colored glass slide for it if you have a few bucks to spare. but thats me, and that one will work just fine, of course but hey, if you like your bong water cold, it looks like that thing will fit in the fridge. fill it with clean water and refrigerate it, get it really chilly. keep the slide out of the fridge though so it doesnt break when you apply heat. personally, i prefer hot bongwater. the steam is very soothing to the throat, and i get way better hits. anyway, have fun, thats a great buy for 20 bucks. i wish i had a bong. hell...i wish i had something to put in a bong
thanks for the tips, nesta! lol, i'm sure i'll have to replace the slide someday anyway, as i tend to be a clumsy bitch, haha! when i do, i'll probably get a colored one. although it doesn't show as nicely in the picture, but the spirals up the neck are actually clear glass overlaid on the colored glass, which goes with the clear slide pretty well i think. i've never tried putting hot water in a bong before. i would think that wouldn't cool the smoke as quickly? i took a rip last night that made me feel like i was having a heart attack it was so hot (i drew it in really fast and was just stoned enough that i accidentally lit the whole fucking fat ass bowl up and i was trying to suck it all down, lol!). i might have to stick it in the fridge, or just put cold water, or some ice in it, just to see how that works. i'm just so excited... this is my first ever bong!

see thats the point. of course, this is all just my own personal theory, but i think its probably more effective to use hot water simply BECAUSE it doesnt cool the smoke. i mean, the reason the goodies are in the smoke in the first place is because its hot enough to keep them in the form of a vapor. if you cool it down, it will condense somewhat, and you'll loose more of the THC than you should. but regardless, when you're using a bong with cold water, ice, whatever, it still has hot smoke. smoke it hot, and there is no avoiding that. you can only cool it so much and still get any smoke. so my preference is instead of trying like mad to get the smoke cold, just embrace the fact that it's hot and it will be hot simply by the nature of it. instead of cold water and ice, use steamy hot water. this will not cool down the smoke at all - but it WILL add water vapor to the smoke. the final result of this is that you're breathing in steam, which is very soothing to the throat, as well as the smoke. you know how if you're sick with a bad cold and sore throat and stuff, you get one of those vicks vaporisers that fills the air with steam? it soothes the symptoms, and actually does a lot of good to help. or when you step into a room where someone is taking a hot shower and its full of steam, or when you're in a sauna? it feels really nice for your throat and lungs, really opens things up and makes you feel nice. since the smoke is really irritating to the throat, the steam helps to counter it well, anyway, i like it. try it, and if you dont like it, don't try it again but if you DO want to use icewater or something, you should get crushed ice if possible. it gets the water colder faster, first of all, but on top of that provides a lot more surface area the smoke has to pass around, and diffuses the smoke a bit as well as doing a much better job of cooling it. like unflavored snowcone slush and a little water would work perfectly :sifone:
hmmm, hadn't thought about cold water removing more of the thc cause of the heat thing. but it makes perfect sense. and yes, steam does open up the alveolar sacs in the lungs which allow greater lung capacity. which is a good thing when it comes to getting high, huh? haha... i'm just worried about trying to pack my lungs with that much smoke. the only reason that rip hurt me so bad i think was that on top of it being hot, it was a huge huge rip, and i'm asthmatic (though it's under control and i still smoke ) and my lungs need at least a little "normal air" in with it or it feels like my entire chest is in a seizure. which is a kind of scary feeling. of course, as soon as the hit sets in, i forget all about it, but it sucks at the time, haha!

yeah yeah, its all about that stoner technique i dont usually like taking the biggest hit i can, its uncomfortable.... i like getting a really good, slow, dense cloud of smoke built up in the bottom half of a bong, pull out the slide and just clear it, gets plenty of fresh air in with it:cheers2:
and again, i dont know if colder water really does effect the THC content, its just speculation. but damn, i'm happy im in school, but i miss being employed and having weed all the time, having my own place and being able to smoke a bong from time to time. now i'm so poor i can VERY rarely get herb, and when i do i have to walk a couple blocks to smoke it at the train tracks from a blunt or something, unless i want to use my one hitter bonghits followed by cooking up a nice big meal, followed by more bonghits for dessert is a recipe for a great evening

haha, if i had money for a vacation to california, i could probably afford to get a little herb and at least pack up a bowl or roll a joint
