I just saw this thing on the National Geographic Channel all about weed, the medical aspects, legal stuff, & all that. It was really interesting, but everytime I see govt officials (DEA, etc) talking about busting all these pot growers & making it seem like they're doing our country a great service I just get enraged. There was a scene where they showed these agents flying in from a chopper & destroying some pot growers field and all I could think of was so how much did that cost the taxpayers? Instead of making it legal & taxing it & making money for the state/country to help relieve our extreme debt the dumb motherfuckers waste tax payer money & send in a chopper like they're going after an escaped convict w/ all these agents. Then they talked to this guy in Vancouver who owns this shop & has lead all these pro-pot rallies, etc & the US wants to extradite him & charge him & put him in prison for years b/c he sells seed. What the fuck? Apparently our country has solved all our other problems like the financial crisis & all that & can now focus on prosecuting peaceful pot smoking entrepreneurs from other countries, fucking morons. I just felt I had to rant about that b/c lately I've seen several documentaries/shows about weed & there's always some doucebag DEA & other federal agents who act like its the worst crime ever. Any thoughts?
When I was in the army,, while stationed in Kentucky. DEA used Army helo's to eradicate MJ. Was really a sight to see and be a part of. These plots are not your high school kids growing weed. These are Commercial MOB run grows.. now you might think that if you eradicate the weed the price will go up. NO, this isnt the case.. Wiping out acres of grass dont harm the price of pot.. What it does, is takes the Dope out the hands of real criminal drug lords.. They have enough money.. 9 x's out 10, No arrests were made though.. The Idea you want to grasp is THE Simple Man can grow the weed, make a little cash between friends, keep themselves nice and buzzed, have a hobby to bide time with.. And respect the rest of the laws on the books.. The important one.. thou shall not kill.. thou shall not steal.. thou shall not use mason jars as anal sex toy..
Would some one who knows more about helicopter operations than I please correct me if I am wrong. I believe I read that fuel cost, maintenance for the chopper, pay for the pilot, insurance, &c, works out to about a grand an hour.
i just watched it (again, as i watched it when it aired. i'd like to smoke a bowl with the reporter, she seems cool) and i would like to see california stand up to the dea and hinder their movements, and prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that weed will help the economy. they have the dispensaries, so they are already benefiting from the weed industry through taxes. maybe increase the tax (by like 2 cents or something minuscule like that) and crawl out of their hole. a problem whose only foundation is blind lies can only be combated by refutable truth. the truth is something everyone wants, but not everyone realizes how much of the world is built on lies. you have to prove the lie false and then say "see, marijuana helped the economy in california." not "it would work if " but "it did work." the burden of proof is with supporters of the truth, and that is wrong because the burden should be in proving how marijuana is bad and not disproving years of falsehoods. its a twisted issue, and a difficult one to stomach.
That guy seemed a little out there. And he looked all fucked up. I wouldn't want that guy as an advocate for weed. Nothing against him, he just seems crazy, haha.
Haha, yeah, he was a little spaced out. I personally like Joe Rogan as a spokesman for pot b/c he smokes so much but yet he still hosts the UFC shit & is a blackbelt in some martial arts & is real physically active & can have intelligent conversations & give good reasons why it should be legalized.
yes and no, these runs made by military pilots, would be NOOB's in training. There may be a few officers on deck, but mostly flight students.. But the cost is close, alot of maintenance goes into servicing the choppers but thats a constant..
I was thinking civilian or law enforcement pilot, which I think is about a $100/hr job....Maintenance is based on number of hours of flight time, right? Anyhoo, if I'm in the ballpark at about $1000/hr, the cost of a four hour flight (how long can one of those things stay in the air?) would about cover the payroll for a free medical clinic, 1 doctor, couple nurses, couple clerks, for a day....sickening.
