Wow. You guys are unbelievable. I can't wait until I'm a teacher...I think I know a lot of the tricks now, and will do everything in my power to prevent academic dishonesty. Why should you get credit for not doing the work?
programming the equations into your calculator is even better. one person puts all the equations in their calculator and then transfers them to everyone elses calculator. it sounds complicated but its really easy.
the only reason i got enough credits to make it through high school was cheat. math, english and biology. one year in biology she always had a multiple choice questions on the tests. my friend would use his fingers, 3 fingers for answer C, 1 for A ect ect. he saved my ass that year. as long as i didnt put ever answer the same and that i did miss some i was fine. i hated that bitch real bad.
it's dishonest. and if that's the type of person you are, well then join the millions. but if the teacher is on top of things, and doing their job, they'll catch you. you shouldn't get a passing grade if you never took the time to study. i guess we all have our different ideas about education and the value of knowledge. and about the "Because cheating well often requires more initiative and thought than the actual work"....yeah because writing some answers on your hand/on a rubberband/on a water bottle label requires SO much more intelligence than having them in your brain.
the education system is such a joke, and scam...its not even funny.... they dont teach any skills whatsoever for when your out of "school" why not cheat? its so easy in large classes.....i dont cheat in small classes though, i have to actually keep up with the material....but seriously....some of the dumbest people ive ever met do excellent in school.....it doesnt mean jack
This makes me wish I had a teacher like you. Honestly, I agree with everything you're saying, but I'm very unfortunate in that the vast majority of my teachers couldn't care less whether we cheat or not. It's very difficult for us to care about the work we're doing, when they people who are setting it to us don't care themselves. And in response to your other comment, I didn't say that cheating required more intelligence, and I am well aware, it doesn't; I said it requires more thought and initiative. Also, I was taking about cheating well. I wasn't referring to writing answers on arms and the like; I was talking about fully-thought out, complex, fool-proof schemes, which some cheating operations turn out to be. I'm not trying to argue with you, because I think you're right in what you're saying about the elements of dishonesty and the value of knowledge, but realistically, in the world of education, people are going to cheat at some point. Then, it's down to the teachers, and whether or not they decide to overlook it, or to do something about it is the deciding factor as to whether or not people think they can get away with it, increasing the problem. I envy whoever you are going to teach, because I can tell that you're really passionate about educating them properly, but a lot of teachers aren't, so I don't think the whole issue can be blamed on the cheaters alone.
I handed in a plagerize essy in Grade 13 English class once. Although I got a B on that essay, my midterm report grade was too low to pass the course even if I got 100% on every test, assignment, essay, and final exam. I dropped the course and repeated it two more times failing both times with no cheating. I never cheated in any other class because I had no reason to as I could get at least a B by doing no homework or studying. Things stick in my mind when I learn them, but for some reason English class is the only exception. To me it's like everything is uninteligable, although English is the only language I have ever known. They gave me a grade 12 general credit for my my 5th English credit in order to graduate from high school. I kind of limited my future as you can never get into university without graduing from 13. I could only get into college so an Electrical Engineer was out of the question. I chose a trade instead. High school ending up being a waste of time getting 3/4 of all credits required to graduate in advanced level math, electronics or science only being never being allowed to get into a a university without that one English credit. Ended up being a mechanic which I could have done without wasting 5 years in high school as I had been working on cars and machinery since I was about 8 or 9.
I majored in history in college and am also certified to teach high school. One reason I decided not to teach is because of the dishonest little fucks that will lie about EVERYTHING. I did my student teaching and then said "fuck this shit".
