I drink Labatt Blue if Im at a bar. Beast Ice at home. Call them piss water if you want, but I dont have the money or the time to research so called "Real beers." Give me my Blue or Beast and Im happy.
Also, to people complaining about the poll list, thats why theres an "other" option. Sorry your obscure beer from some country no one has ever heard of isnt listed. Some people sometimes make me laugh with their "That stuff is piss water. Im gonna drink this ale made by locals from some undiscovered country" attitude. Just let people enjoy what they drink and move on.
local microbrews are always a nice pick, if nobodies already said that a ton of times in this thread. I've had homebrewed that is good, but also alot of shit that is just way too dark and thick. I don't know man, I would love a tall can of Tecate right now, like over anything else.
Not to offend anyone but... US and UK beer sucks!! Portuguese beer is way better :cheers2: PS: I'm talking about the commercial one... not the homemade.
heineken is pretty much the only quality beer listed in the poll, but its still not top notch. beer is far more varied than you seem to give it credit for, but this is likely due to not having tried many varieties. i generally identify forĂȘt as my favorite but i can't really say i have one favorite out of all beers, though thats the closest i have. among other really high quality beers i have a passion for, i'd say houblon chouffe dobbelen ipa tripel (what a mouthfull!) kostritzer schwarzbier is one of my favorite lagers along with paulaner doppelbock and spaten i'm a big fan also of upland dragonfly ipa (a good local brew), avery's maharaja imperial ipa, young's double chocolate stout, flying dog pale ale, great lakes brewing company's edmund fitzgerald porter, several ommegang beers, most of unibroue's lineup, samuel smiths, rogue, negra modelo, even sam adams deserves mention, and numberous others that run the gamut from very mild, light, and crisp to extremely heavy and full flavored. this is not to say i drink exclusively expensive beer, or that i think all the ones listed are terrible. they just aren't craft beers and most of them suck. but hey, i drink malt liquor sometimes, and i also occasionally get miller high life or heineken or something. but they aren't great beers - there is far better out there than anything in the poll.
I had a local brew last night, Stone IPA and it rocked my socks nesta that kostritzer schwarzbier looks amazing
its pretty good, and very mild and refreshing for a beer as dark as it is. it's a lager, and made in a style very similar to that of a pilsner except with the addition of some darker malts. the malt character as a result is a bit more rich, with chocolaty notes to it, but still it's overall pretty light and bright in flavor. also stone ipa is great! but its made out west, i think. if you like stone's ipa, you should give their ruination a chance. its very similar, but stronger in alcohol, maltier, and a good bit hoppier as well. its amazing.
both great cheap beers. i also really like stroh's a lot. its too bad i can't get yeungling in ohio or indiana - it's only distributed out east
