Ca-Ra-Mel; exactly as it's typed; and I can't imagine it being pronounced any other way.. Then again, you've got your own spin on 'oregano' over the water, so I guess anything's possible.
I alternate. I thought that was an American thing. And that the British were more consistent. But I don't remember with which pronounciation.
WRONG! I just have this pet hate about the way people pronounce some things. Same goes for herb, it's 'herb', not 'erb'.
