Ugh, its lame. Snot and coughs everywhere, my first time all winter(amazing because I worked outside for the first month of winter). Anybody else feel the congestion in them?
I'm sick. And also sick and tired of being sick. And my poor babies...when are they going to get better? The school nurse says that whatever this strain of illness that's going around lately is brutal, lasts sometimes 2 weeks. Fevers up and down, up and down for days, weeks. Tons of congestion, violent coughing, just hangs on and on. Heck, I just found out this morning that my 17 year old nephew had to be taken to immediate care over the weekend due to the same thing, except he was running fevers of 105 degrees! The doctors say it's viral, so antibiotics won't touch it. Same stuff we've had here. Viral, and it has to run it's course, but oh what a long course it's been. I am so ready to be over this. The pathetic thing I am actually called my husband at work BAWLING (well, as much as I could bawl with having my voice half gone because of this sickness!) because I had been going into the school this AM to help out at the twins' Valentine's Day party. They were sooo excited, so happy that mommy was going to be with them all day. Well as we're walking into the school, my oldest son started vomiting all over the pavement. I knew it was because of all of the nasty congestion he has, but man, he looked BAD. I took him right in to see the nurse and she took one look at him and excused him for the day. My kids have been missing school left and right lately. It seems like they start to get better, go back to school, and wham, it hits again within a day because they're not fully recovered. Meanwhile, I had to tell the twins' teacher that I couldn't be at the party. I knew the twins were crushed. I felt like such a bad mom, I felt horrible, but what could I do? I had nobody to take care of my oldest son, and really, I was feeling pretty darn lousy myself but dragging myself in just because that's how I am. I keep on going and on until I run myself ragged, which, I have now officially done. So I feel for you, the congestion, the coughing, the lousy aches, pains, chills, sore throats, fevers, phlegm galore...we've had our fair share of them here.
i also have a cold (or as i like to call it: 'man flu') which i have had for over a week and still going strong. of course, i have widely publicised my pain on the forums in that time..
