 @ Lil' Wayne's dreads being "thick-ish" Those are twists most likely. The only prob I'd have with you going to a Black salon is that they will put tons of gel (don't let them use that brown stuff...yick) and tell you not to wash your hair or put any water in it for months and to come back for retwists and other crap like that because "it won't dread if you don't do that"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhPVAWLeHdA Dunno waynes dreads look pretty natty there it was a while back too lol long while actually so ye.
dont go to any salons i would recomend natural controlling the size isnt hard if thats what u want..simply keep seperating them as they section themselves into the section sizes you ewant or you can let them section as they want i would never ever ever concider going to any salon they wont help you one bit many times ive heard of people spending as much as 400 dollars at a salon only to have to undo the mess they made and start over knotty boy is one of the worse there is theyreew insistance on wax and theyre extremely rigid checkerboard pattern of sectioning will make you look rediculouse and create dreads that probly get cut long before they ever really are actual drewads take 2 months to let them do what they do..if you stop combing the dammage will stop happening they will drewad on theyreew own backcombing can be very dammaging, ive seenthreads whewre almost 1/2 the hairs were ripped out at the roots thats only the dammage at thye roots, but the dammage along the entire hair shaft isnty as odvios if your hairsa dammaged now natural will be the healthiest safest way to go..and easieast/cheapest too aloe does help repair dammaged hair so can be used sparingly to help it along if after 2 months no combing tyou decide to backcomb then your hair will be healthier and be abvle to handle it more..but keep in mind backcombing isnt nesacdary and wont do much to guarantee uniform dreads with your hair typoe i imagine 2 months natural shgould be plenty to start seeing good dreads forming with dreads natural is always the best way to go second would be twist n rip or backcombing provided tyou dont do too much dammage in theprocess the absolute worse way to go would be the knotty boy way wax causes most dreads to be cut prematurely salons always majke a massive mess..then try to get you to keep comming back every 2 weeks month after month justy to get more money out of you and continue making the mess worse till they got you to spend a rediculouse amount of money and get so fed up you cut em off
Been a while since I've been able to check this forum. Oops, meant "thin-ish." Thanks :cheers2 Where you staying? I think dreads look the best while tied back (original picture). Skimming through the inspiration thread I found other ideal styles These look a little worn out, but the length is intense I wish I had pictures of these two with their hair tied back! Last picture - pretty thick uniformed dreads for a white guy, right? So -no salons -no wax -vitamins -backcombing, palm rolling, twist & rip, possibly a crochet hook? -so definitely no lock peppa? no extra nappiness? I've been putting this off for too long so I'm ready to start! :coolgleamA :
sounds good to me, you dont need to palm roll, think about it man you dont want to spend hours upon end going from dread to dread rolling them in between your palms, especially if you have 30 or 40 of them, as far as vitamins go i took horsetail for a while and it helped, horsetail has silica which not only promotes hair growth but also makes your bones dense and strong, notice during that interview, the blag guy with the dreads (i assume some sort of rapper) mentioned twisting them? no, not how its done, as far as crocheting goes, i wouldnt follow the youtube videos because most of them tell you to crochet around the root which will make it weak, i crocheted at the beginning and i would take the loose hair and crochet it and work my way up from the root to the tip of the dread. but i soon gave up because it took 4 hours to crochet them and i didnt want to have to go through that again, so my dreads are pretty tight for only being 3 months old, but ive stopped meticulously caring for them and realized that its gonna do what its gonna do...best of luck to you
