Hello mellow folk! I have one of dem awsome grinders with a screen in it to filter out some kief from my ground up nugs. Anyway... Quite a bit of kief has acculumlated and I was wondering how exactly one goes about making kief into hash on a small scale. Thanks!
Just for the sake of having good archives and search features on hip forums I will post what I found. I asked at the cannabis culture forums. The people there seem to recomend pressing the kief into hash just with fingers or use plastic wrap and a rolling pin.
dont try to compress kief with your fingers, it wastes alot. the only way you can do it with your hands/fingers is if its directly off the plant. Black hash is made by rubbing trichomes in between your hands by creating friction. But dry sieve will not work honestly, if i had some good dry sieve i wouldnt make hash out of it, i'd just hit it straight up unless i had it on a large scale if you just want to press the kief and not have it turn into hash there are little kief compressing chambers you can buy for a few bucks at headshops/online if you actually want to congeal the THC glands and create hash you'll need heat and pressure. the easiest method would be iron pressing..all you need is Parchment paper, some good dry sieve(kief) and an iron. Here's a link..I would type up my own tutorial(which varies alot from the OG one,but I dont have time ) http://www.overgrow.com/growfaq/1421 a third option is make SOLE HASH..This is probably the easiest way, but you have to make sure your kief is pure. All you do is fold up the kief in some cellophane(any grocery store-like bags will work,and wax paper may work as well) and make a small compressed square with the kief sitting inside. Then place it inside your shoe. Put your shoes on and make sure its nicely sitting under your heel. (wear socks! they create more heat). Go out, do something for a few hours, and the kief should turn into hash after it undergoes enough heat and pressure(try doing physical activities). The result isn't the best, but its probably better than the iron press, just because overheating is very easy with the iron, and THC can be destroyed. i personally never use any of these techniques anymore. the product usually doesnt come out as potent as the dry sieve was originally..but its nice to try once..i prefer making Honey oil, Ice hash or Bubble hash. but these take a higher scale of trichomes, and alot more time and dedication, but the product is verrry potent.
