I wasn't trying to relate any of the three questions. I was just asking three different questions. I just recently started making the bed everyday. I always eat lunch at home unless I am visiting with a friend and in my opinion we eat out too much. We save money in different ways but I was trying to come up with a way that maybe I hadn't thought of..... answers like don't spend money aren't that creative.
Yes, the bed is made everyday. Yes, I make breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday. To save money...hmmm, we don't eat out much, I make pretty much everything from scratch. I make a meal plan, and we stick to it. By that I mean I figure out what kinds of meals I want to cook, make an ingredient list, and buy only what's on that list for the most part. That way, there's no waste. I always take advantage of stock-up sales for items we use frequently. I clip coupons, although there aren't all that many good ones in the paper anymore, I swear! I shop at a bulk food store quite a bit, because many times I can pay less there. But you have to be careful with that, because if you buy in bulk and end up not using everything or throw it out, it can end up costing you more. I buy good quality clothing for the family and I because it tends to hold up longer, but will rarely ever pay full price. I shop the clearance racks or wait to buy after the item I want has been out for a while because if you wait, they'll usually mark it down after a few weeks. I have scored a lot of great deals that way. I bought an adorable exercise outfit for myself the other day. The capris were orginally marked at $30.00, the tank at $28.00, which would have cost me $58.00. Well, I ended up getting the capris for $7.00 and the tank for $6.00! So I only paid $13.00 shopping the clearance rack, and I absolutely LOVE the outfit. Score! I also like to frequent a higher end kids' consignment shop for nearly new or sometimes NWT brand name kids' clothing. They're very picky about what they take in (they actually take in brand name clothing only), but man, I have found some fantastic deals for the kids there to expand their wardrobes and the things I purchased never even looked like they had been worn. I have also sold some of my own childrens' clothing to them. Um, what else. We don't have cable, and haven't for 10 years. Don't miss it one bit! We do get Netflix, but it's cheaper than cable, AND cheaper than going to the video store every week. If we charge something, we pay it off that month so that we don't carry a balance and have to pay interest fees. We usually don't use the charge card that often, we will normally pay for things upfront unless the checking is a bit low at the time. So basically, buy only what you can afford, don't put yourself in debt. My husband does most of the work on our cars unless it's something he can't figure out. That saves a lot of money. The best advice I can offer you is, when you go to buy something, stop and think, do I actually NEED this or do I simply WANT it.
Wow that very helpful! We recently started the want/ need shopping and it is making us more aware of what we are buying. For instance I went to Target yesterday and spend $47. I bought things we needed and only one thing I wanted. Since I don't work and need to be able to buy things I want without feeling guilty we have institute a new $20 a week spending limit for me. That way I can buy things I want without feeling that I have to explain myself. John allows me to get everything we need.... and now this allows for those expenses I would normally have paid for myself. Example: I bought a cable to play my iPod in the new car at $15.... didn't need it but wanted it. AND I can save my money and spend it later if I feel like splurging on an item.... I hear you as well at buying at used clothing stores for kids! I bought the baby an adorable outfit never worn and four pairs of shoes for $16!!! AND my mom bought the baby a toy that is normally $20 for $3.50 and another 20% off! I am trying to convince John about going cable free but he loves his sports too much... we have stopped renting movies because his parents bought us a year membership to Netflix. I started coupon cutting but I need to be better about meal planning... My whole take on my new mommy role is that my job is to be full time mommy and save money where we can....
It only takes a minute to throw the quilt over the bed, so yes, we make it daily. We usually just do light lunch, but we fix dinner nightly. I'm usually the one who cooks, but he does clean up duty. The best way we found to save money - for real - was each of us put $50.00 cash per week in a glass jar with the lid glued on. We do it as soon as we get paid, so it's never really thought about. We do it this way because we can watch our money grow, and the bank doesn't pay much for interest, anyway. This is our little "freedom fund" that we can use for emergencies, or whatever, but it adds up very fast. With each of us putting 50 per week, that's $5200.00 in a year, that we'd probably waste and have nothing to show for it if we didn't stick it in the jar.
I make my bed only when I wash my sheets. I bake more than I cook. I prob make dinner about once a week. I am really bad at saving money, so instead I make an extra appoitment or two if I find that I am asking Andy for money or using credit cards.
I rarely ever make the bed My girlfriend does the cleaning I cook lunch for my girlfriend I also cook dinner for my girlfriend ( Mighty good cook) I trade cooking and sexing for cleaning (however I do the laundry and dishes) and all around awesomeness I dont ever really spend money I dont have a feasible job per se (got laid off) she does However good ways to save money are 1. Clip Coupons 2. Buy only store made brands. 3. As stated only buy necessities 4. Have a garage sale 5. If work is close ride a bike 6. Take the bus to work (if possible) 7. Drive your car less aggressively not letting the rpms go into the 3s 8. Skip one meal a day 9. Quit all of your vices 10. Stop going out to dinner 11. Cut up all your credit cards and pay off the bills
I dont my bed at all because most of the time when im getting up my boyfriend is getting to sleep. I dont make lunch because Im at school usually go get something. Dinner sometimes. Were saving our money to move out and get our own place.
I don't have a bed to make. I sleep on the floor with some blankets and pillows. So i guess no. as for saving...I just...barely ever buy anything except things I absolutely need.
