I live in a suburb of the great city of Chicago and was wondering if I were to go to one of those Native American Churches, that have a license to grow this catus, would they sell it to me? If not, are there sites that anyone knows about that sells this catus understand a scientific pretense. Please let me know, I've yet to try peyote and am pumped to check it out. :D thx

Wow buddy new to the hip. how did you find us? Peyote is only for the truly dedicated. If I was you I would start buying some trichocereus peruvian and learn how to cook the skins. I could tell you more if you would like :)

Man I'd love that! You're right this is not only my first day with hip but it's my first post :D. I'm in class right now and, as you can imagine, pretty bored. I have experimented with boomers and L several times and love them dearly. Where I live it's very difficult to find either one of them so I started doing a bit of research to find other NATURAL means of expanding my consciousness. I found that there are several Native American Churches (which can legally grow peyote) within driving distances from me and thought the worst thing that could happen if I asked to purchase peyote from them would be them saying no, ya know. . . I'm definitely nervous about asking so I went online to see if I could find a forum; and now I'm here. I'd love to pick your brain for all the info you've got on how to prepare the skins, grow, buy, whatever. Any bit of knowledge you feel comfortable sharing with me would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that unless I am a member of their church and/or participating in their rituals, I cannot consume or purchase peyote from them. I have purchased legit spores for certain types of mushrooms online under the pretense that they were for scientific research only. Do you know if there are any websites like that for cacti?

That's awesome man, your lucky you live there (where it grows naturally). I've heard it's an amazing trip but none of my friends will try it with me even if I pay for it lol so I'm going to be the lone tripper when the day comes.

if peyote does grow in arizona it's due to humans cultivating it. it does not naturally grow in the sonoran desert as it is a chihuahuan desert plant.

you will only find wild buttons in texas in the US, and the parts of mexico that the chihuahuan desert extends to. if you are looking to try mescaline just do like ancient said and get some peruvian torch. leave peyote to the ones who truly respect it.

What is the difference between San Pedro, Peyote, and Mescal? Besides being different cacti, are they different trips? If so, how.

(please excuse my ignorance to this topic. i am just very curious. teach me all you know)

mescaline is the active ingredient in peyote and san pedro. it is illegal. but somehow san pedro is not illegal, you can buy it at a garden store or even home depot sometimes. they differ in their companion alkaloids, peyote containing some 50 total alkaloids including mescaline. san pedro has about 4 or 5 alkaloids including mescaline.

Jeeze, that's pretty wild. That explains why I was able to buy some seeds online when I purchased some morning glory seeds. I have yet to plant them... I'm swamped with school and stuff right now. I'm thinking after this next semester (last one!) i'll give growing them a whirl. but after i grow it how do i prepare them safely

the seeds arent illegal so u can pretty much buy them anywhere, and u dont plant them if your trying to use them. but hawaiin baby woodrose are your best bet if your goin the LSA route. If you get the quality ones u only need 5-8 where you may need 300-500 morning glory seeds.
But seriously, go to erowid. its got soooo much info on it.
