What a fucking genuinely great guy with a heart of gold old Peely was. There's to few people like him in the world as it is. He's been fucking stolen from us. Bastards.
I had the pleasure to meet this lovely man three times and have listened to his Radio 1 programmes regularly for over ten years since a late teenager. He meant a great deal to me. My thoughts go to his wife Sheila, his children William, Thomas, Alexandra and Flossy and his grandson Archie. With a glass of red wine. John Peel 1939-2004 Teenage kicks all through the night!
Grr, we were just talking on Sunday about how it was great he was still around as he played amazing music. I will miss him lots His poor wife must be devastated
he was truely a untouchable figure in many generations of music culture, it had a deep impact on me as im very sure it has on everyone whos left a tribute on this thread
I don't know what to say, I'm truly shocked. I thought he would be around forever! He introduced me to so many bands, and for that I thank him immensely. He will be very sorely missed. RIP John.
