Id like to work at a custom car shop, being in charge of car audio. I applied at one in St. Paul for customer help, good foot in the door....
My only advice to anyone would be to get a job doing something that you like to do. Otherwise, you will hate life. The best way to think about your life choice for any job is to think to yourself, is this something you can do for the rest of your life? Personally I have been lucky. I have always known what I wanted to do. I sort of do the same thing I have done for my entire life but I do it in different ways. I have a lot of personal experience in a job field and I am able to adapt to the needs. You may start off your working life in one way but you have to learn to change according to the needs and hopefully still be able to do something that you like. As some of you may know I am in sales for a catering company. However, throughout my life I have been the following. Chef, Banquet Manager, Beverage Manager, Food & Beverage Director, Catering Director, Restaurant Manager, Kitchen Manager, Movie Theater Manager, and Sales Manager. When I first started to think about what I wanted to do when I was younger, I thought it would be cool to cook for a living so I decided I wanted to become a chef. I took an apprenticeship when I was 15 at a French Resturant and I learned a lot. I worked off and on in the food service industry through High School and into College. During my summers I would work at least two if not three jobs so I could make the money I wanted. Back then that was all I did. Keep in mind this was twenty five years ago. I have never looked back and have been in the food service industry the whole time. I love what I do and I am good at it. Now, would I like to just sit around and do what ever I would want. Well, I can tell you. If I won the lottery tomorrow I would either open my own business or just continue to work at what I do now and just do it with a better car and nice clothes. I could never just sit around. Good Luck All. Pick something you like to do.
i want to design. unfortunately, i lack the piece of paper that says i can, and the money to go to school. plus my math skills are less than fantastic. but thats why they make calculators. i love designing living spaces the best. after that is clothes, but you can make clothes and the government won't get you. you build a house that is not normal, and bam! you get in trouble. "this is not up to code. ive never seen a building like this. where the hell is your engineer? NO certificate of occupancy." but thats who i am. a designer. its what i do! i especially like designing around an obstacle. clothes that flatter a pregnant belly, tubular housing, underground and earth sheltered housing, just everything. if you need a design idea, give me your obstacles, and i'll figure something out. or my name isn't orville redenbacher
in a couple years kids will be replacing that statement "that's why we have computers".. and they are gonna be one of the dumbest generations ever.. PS.. you should still know how to do it in your head
it takes me a long time to remember how to do advanced math in my head. i can't remember formulas, even though i know that there is a formula for solving a certain problem, its like i understand the concepts, but my aptitude is intuitive. if i tried to work everything out by hand, i would have to reinvent the formulas, and that just doesn't sound like fun. thats part of why i'd need to go to school. i just get bogged down in the details.
