I did it alot, I mean I never really ditched my grandmother would always call me out, we had 10 days a semester we could miss and to not miss them to me seemed like wasting vacation time. HOWEVER, if people can't keep up with the work while skipping they need not skip, high school is in fact important, you don't need high honors or anything constantly, but decent grades help. Also combined with the fact it really is the easier 4 years of your life and if it's that hard to just read some books and answer some questions it's the start of failure at life.
I only skipped school like 2 times. I found that if I would just wake and bake, sometimes even again at lunch, then the days would go by much easier and I wouldn't have loads of hw to make up. Even if I was dazing off into my own little world all day i would still get the assignments, better than being behind everyone else in class.
In high school I never ditched class that much. Maybe three or four times... our class was so small that if you were there in one class and not in the other you would DEFINITELY get a call home, so you had to miss the whole day. It wasn't worth the loads of makeup work I had to do...
I skipped a shitload in grade 12 and the extra semester I took. It was just a hassle to drag my ass there and sit in a chair and listen to someone recycle bullshit that they pulled out of our textbooks. Then answer mindless questions that are not going to assist me with my life in any way.
This is life, doing a bunch of bullshit you don't wanna do, and high school is far the easiest bullshit you will ever do. And your grades/SAT scores/what colleges you get into even if you never finish it do effect your life a great deal. Is it right or fair judgment? Hell no, but it's reality
Idk, my grades in high school were meh, nothing great but nothing terrible, but I did awesome on my SAT's so I was able to have a chance at some alright schools. As for college though, that was epic failure for me. And it's catching up, what a year from now when looking for a job, I might be able to put attended whatever university, but most other people from my class will be able to put "degree in whatever from wherever"
Exactly, if you go to college you get the same chance, but like once that ends it's such an odd shift, to be with hundreds of people, generally the same people daily then like nothing, just the people you're friends with.
Its very easy to skip class at my school with an open campus and being downtown Ann Arbor. Most everybody here skips class once in a while its just too easy not to. Last semester I always use to skip my Personal Fitness class first block. But now I'm in my final semester of High School, I already got into my colleges and all my classes now are way too sick to skip. Ultimate Questions and Psych in Film are my Fav
I'm going into a trade anyways so my highschool marks don't even matter anymore, just the fact that I have my diploma. Having a hands on skill is going to be far more beneficial to me than some bullshit degree. I was in business college for marketing but I dropped out since it is really something I don't want to be a part of. Selling people products they don't need to earn more money for a company and their shareholders....I don't want to be involved in that. Besides, in poor economic times marketing jobs are not going to be in demand. I'm working on getting a plumbing apprenticeship. Getting paid to learn a skill that the majority of the population does not have sounds good to me. And even when our economy is in the tank, people still need their shitters fixed so I should always be able to find some work. I also plan on growing a bit of herb for myself/to sell to make back the money that I have to fork up to the government through taxes. I got way off topic here, but I'm just sayin...fuck high school. I was depressed as shit throughout it which is partially why I didn't go and I still managed to pass most of my classes (only failed 3 or 4).
I skipped A LOT of high school.. Particularly junior & senior year.. senior year i had like 23 absences, the absence limit was like 18. I had to be reviewed by the super-intendent, dean of students, and principal to even decide whether or not I was gonna pass senior year. High school is ridiculous though. I got 2 days ISS for just leaving class to take a piss- without asking the teacher first. HAHA. Fuck, I'm glad I'm done with all that.
Yea, I had a little scam going from 6th to 10th grade, where everyday I'd go in late if I went at all, then sleep in most of the classes. I wouldn't do any homework, but I'd ace all the tests (Because somehow, I always ended up knowing all the shit they were trying to teach those idiots already, which was the problem in the first place) Which would give me like.. a C or a D. Then I'd just go to summer school for a week and actually do the work, then I would pass. GG school system
