John Kerry is a Great Goose hunter. Seriously. How many goose hunters do you know who only hunt for two hours?
Well none. But doesn't that prove my point? And in only two hours he bagged his goose too! He's amazing!
As we all know, Dubbya would never orchestrate a photo op. And he certainly wouldn't use taxpayer money to orchestrate a photo-op on an aircraft carrier to declare "Mission Accomplished" when a war that still rages on had barely begun. It's kind of like that video of Edwards fixing his hair. Guess what, when he is going in front of cameras, not only does Dubbya have his hair done, he wears makeup too! Oh the horror! Who would have thought that theatrics played a role in politics?
I don't know any goose hunters. Shouldn't it be geese hunter anyways, i mean lets be optimists here. On this point, there was a flood in my part of the burgh recently do to Ivan, in the paper it showed how President and Laura Bush came to town to survey the wreckage, They made it into a photo-op. Then in the paper someone raised a stink saying that neither Teresa Heinz Kerry or Senator Kerry came, dispite owning a house in the area and owing a large chunk of their personal fortunes to the local Heinz plant. Then it turned out that Teresa did show up, she didn't just make it into a photo-op. She didn't want to benefit politically from others tragedies. It almost makes me want to vote democrat this year.
Like, ohmygod, John Kerry hunts geese! I think I am going to vote for him now because he loves to hunt geese! I am getting all teary-eyed now over how great John Kerry is. I never knew he was such a sportsman. This is very important when choosing a president, almost as much as pandering to gullible gun owners is.
You are right. I despise the need to pander to special interests. I think I should vote for a candidate with experience as a skydiving instructor--do you know any?
Yeah, and my computer has been acting up...do you know of a candidate who has spent his career on computers rather than politics or even law? Don't get pissy, I support Mike too.
It's not really a sportsman thing. Kerry is pandering to the gun owners. He remembers how Gore lost West Virginia due in part to the extensive campaigning that the NRA did in WV and other Midwestern states to scare the hunters into thinking that Gore would take away their guns.
It is stupid to pander to these special interests, but if you don't the opposition makes up outrageous scare-tactic lies. I don't know if the pandering works anyways, if you are so concerned about guns you are probably die-hard Bush supporter. I would guess anyways.
It seemed to work pretty good for the NRA in WV in 2000. WV has traditionally gone democratic, but not in 2000. And probably not in 2004 either. I don't remember how many millions the NRA spent in WV, but it was staggering. States like WV, PA, and OH have a large hunting community. I agree that the whole pandering thing has gotten silly, though. I wouldn't be surprised if Kerry's next stop after the goose hunting was the wildlife sanctuary where he did a photo-op of bandaging up an injured goose to try to shore up the women's vote.
Just as do Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, New Mexico, and Colorado. Drive thru Wisconsin on the 3rd Friday of November, and you will see a huge army of orange uniformed men heading west and north out of Milwaukee. A Half Million Deer Hunters. They'll have been saving their vacation all year for that week. Same in Minnesota, heading north out of Minneapolis. But It Only Took Kerry TWO HOURS! A Great Goose hunter is he!
Who the fuck cares? And why would it have ANY effect on his ability to lead the country. Is this the best you can come up with? They are politicians, not your pastor. Take this garbage with a grain of salt. Who cares?
Well not you perhaps, but surely the Goose Hunters of America Care. Surely the Kerry Campaign Staff Cares. They did take pictures. And I am sure John Kerry himself cares. After all, bagging your goose in only two hours of hunting is a story worth telling.
