Im just telling yall its not a good idea to smoke marijuana everyday because you will never be able to get your brain cells back .. Just thought yall should know.. Do it on occasion not everyday where it takes over your life. that would suck to know you have to be high to have a good time.. This is just my opinion.

I agree on the moderation part but marijuana doesn't destroy braincells, if anything it protects them(all those antioxidants) and promotes new cell growth! Not sure if its new brain cell growth though .

why are you denying that marijuana doesnt kill brain cells?

 

marijuana does not kill any cells except those few that get burned by the hot smoke. infact it actualy reinforces cells in your central nervous system and stimulates nerve growth in the cerebrum. this by definition means that marijuana actualy makes you smarter not the other way around. canabional also reduces muscle spasms around the spine aswell which would aid with sleep and actualy make it restfull and the relaxation of these muscles alows them to release toxins which they store which cause numerous health problems thus cleaning your body of many types of poisions.

 

I don't know, but I think brain cells are killed because of lack of oxygen, if you smoke alot, your holding your breath filled with smoke for extended periods of time, that's gotta hurt, but of course, playing football does ALOT more damage then that.

You're only half right, though. Smoking marijuana does kill brain cells, but it's not the marijuana per se; it's the smoke. More precisely, it's the carbon monoxide in the smoke. So, the more you smoke the more brain cells you lose, but only due to inhaling more carbon monoxide. And anyways, it's not a huge amount (think about how many cigarette smokers are losing, due to the volume of smoke they inhale every day), and as has been stated, some studies have shown increased cell growth in the central nervous system caused by the THC and/or other cannabinoids. It might balance out or even come out positively, more studies are needed.

Still, there is nothing inherent to marijuana that kills brain cells (unlike alcohol), it's just the method of injestion: smoking. If you were to eat it, you wouldn't get dead brain cells. This is the problem with the popular propoganda out there. It sometimes has a kernel of truth, but it's usually buried way under the bullshit, lies, and half truths. You say "smoking weed kills brain cells" which isn't entirely false, but it's not the whole picture. It's dishonest at best.

pot does make you dumber. since i started, i've become dumber, all my friends are dumber and if you really think that it has no affect on you, then it shows just how dumb you've become. don't get me wrong, there's nothing i love more than burning one down, but you can't bullshit yourslef into believing its not harmful.

I think it's really interesting how much people smoke. I used to smoke at leat 3 times a day if not more. Now, since I "quit" if I were to take a hit off someone's bowl, I would be high as a kite.
It's not about making you stupid or smart, it's about what you want to know. When you smoke too much, you end up sitting inside your head all the time and losing interest in expanding your mind formally- like with school (not that that is very interesting to begin with) but then the beauty of your own mind is fascinating and you can explore so many different planes of reality with the help of marijuana and other drugs.
The problem, is, which one is going to help you in the long run? Which one can get you a job? etc. etc.
After years of drug use, this is the conclusion I have come to. You can agree or disagree... better yet, find out for yourself.
