I just finished 'A child Called It' about 4 weeks ago...and started reading 'The Lost Boy' around christmas (it was one of my gifts) and i don't know why this tragic but true story has captivated me so much. i have never felt so drawn to a book series before. I even read especially slow so that I can stretch the books out as much as possible.

Anyone read these books before? including the third, 'A Man Named Dave' i think its called.

And does anyone know of any other books that carry the same story line?

idk about any books but movies there are:

I know My Name Is Steven
    Sybil
    Radio Flyer
    Mommy Dearest
    flowers in the attic.
There's more but I can't thnik of any of there names.
I loved that series too (it gets better for Dave)
It helped me understand some things and get through alot of my pain. (my father was an abusive alchoholic.) I couldn't stop reading! He had so much bravery and fought hard and in the end, he did not blame and hate the world for what happened to him.
What do you like about the series?

You should also check out a book called A Brother's Journey, written by Richard Pelzer, Dave's brother. It's basically his side of the story.

There are SO many books like that out there, I can't really remember names or titles very well however if you go to a bookstore and check the biography section, there is usually a sub-section dedicated to such survivor stories.

Also, you might be interested in Torey Hayden's books as well? A little bit different, written from the teacher's point of view. But her books are very very good, definitely interesting even if most of them are very similar to each other.
