I lost respect for my mother at about 8 or 9, when she got crazy and made me go to a bunch of shrinks, because she thought I was "depressed". She made up stories about me crying all the time, and never wanting to play with other kids, and generally being a mopey little kid. I never was. I just preferred sitting in a tree reading than playing with pokemon cards and shit. All the kids in my school were little assholes. Within the last year or so, I've gained every shred of respect back for her. She's gotten a lot crazier, but it's in the funniest way. Her paranoia has slightly calmed down, and I've realized that she's the one single person in this world that I know that I can trust 100%. She birthed me, she has absolutely no reason to do anything remotely bad to me.

I never respected my father so much as feared him, sand ****** foreign ass-backwards motherfucker used to chase us around with his leather sandals and beat us if we looked him in the eye while he yelled at us. He's still a fucking shithead, but I'm not afraid of him anymore. He's had diabetes for 8 years now, and it's weakened him into an even more bitter old man. He is becoming the embodiment of what he always was inside. Last week, I finally snapped and went apeshit on him. He was yelling at me and my mother, me about being out all night [I'm nineteen years old, he has no say in what I can or cannot do], and my mother for "allowing" me to be out all night. When my mum said "Mo, just relax, I know she left last night," he promptly told her he was going to stomp on her head and nail her mouth shut if she didn't shut up. My response to that was, "Why do you think I never come home? Do you think I really want to listen to your disgusting foul mouth all the time? You are a horrible old man, I want nothing to do with you. That's a horribly shitty thing to say to the mother of your fucking children." "You think it's digusting? You think this is bad? You wait and see, you want to see bad..." "Dad, I see it every fucking day. You are continually spewing filth from your bitter, degrading mouth, and I'm fucking sick of it. We were a lot happier when you were in Syria, we didn't have to deal with you constantly putting EVERYBODY down. If you think you can constantly threaten people, GO BACK TO SYRIA."

My mum looked at me like I had just grown three heads and was spewing fire [which I very well may have been], and my dad just... stood there. I've never had the balls to talk back to him, best I could ever do was stare him down [which always got him riled up as a motherfucker; he's always expected us to be subservient and accept whatever shit he decides to throw our way]. And he just... took it. He didn't say a word, he just muttered a couple curses in Arabic under his breath, turned around, and walked out the door.

Do pardon the rant, it just felt good to be able to finally, finally DO something about it. Felt real good.

lulz. I mean, I always thought they were cool, and I watched the show and shit, but I just never really thought of buying them. I was balls deep in Agatha Christie, Nancy Drew, and Goosebumps.

    Psyduck is win.

haha.. I've just started discussing pokemon with my friends at school. I used to love the game.

Hey, do you have any siblings other than the overweight younger sister?

A twelve year old sister. She's cool as hell. She looks exactly like me, except more bubblegum-y. She has really long hair with little highlights and stuff, and wears cute little shirts and shit, instead of being a grungy ass goth kid with purple and green dreads like I was at her age. She's real loopy, too.

I was 16 when I lost repsect for my parents. My mom went to slap me (again) and I grabbed her arm and stared her down and hissed at her to never slap me again. LOL! she backed up a step or two. And yeah.. she never hit me again after that.

I've always respected my Dad. I love my Mum very much, but I think I stopped respecting her when I realized that she was dissatisfied with her life, but unwilling to do anything about it. It's quite sad really, because we get along well, but there's just no understanding between us whatsoever.

my parents used to call my little brother stupid because he had a hard time with reading. come to find out later that it really WAS the teacher. my dad beat up my little sister when he caught her taking her friends to the planned parenthood clinic to get them on birth control after she found out they were having sex. those were the two hardest things for me to handle. those are my baby brother and sister, they're mine to protect.

i don't regret my own upbringing. i'm stronger for it. i love my parents and know that, considering their individual upbringings, they did a good deal better than they got. physical and verbal abuse aside, i knew i was loved. we're just not good at impulse control.
