Traveling buddy for New Mexico/ Arizona

Hey I'm a 20 year old Tennessean looking to do some seeing, seeing the south west that is. Any one want to join or got any good places to check out along the way? I plan to do a lot of hiking and camping in state/ national parks and hitching to the next location. If this sounds like something you want to do and aren't a crazy let me know.
