What's up, my fellow Dreadites? I've had my 'locks for a little bit over a year and now that they finally look like dreads as opposed to messy hair, I'm trying to get them lookin' real fine. My first question is what to do with all of my loose hairs? For the last few months, I've been putting rubberbands at the base of my locks so that the hairs stick with the 'locks they're supposed to be with. But now that the rubberbands are out, those hairs are flying away again. Especially in regards to the two front 'locks (my antennae). I've been trying to wear bandana's to bed so that I don't yank hairs out of dreads while sleeping, but other than that... no idea what to do. I'm not too worried about blunting the tips, since I kinda like the way they're looking with tails. One last question before I throw up some pics of my mane for feedback: what should I use to wash? I've used DreadheadHQ, and Doc Bronner's, and just straight up water, but I'm still looking for an alternative. My scalp becomes too dry with the HQ stuff, but it does a good job drying out my 'locks. The Doc Bronner's is great, but after I used it for a few months, it seemed as if my locks were becoming softer and looser. And I don't think I can use nothing but hot water /every/ time I wash. Any suggestions? Here're my knotty whips, tell me what ya'll think: http://www.************/photo.php?pid=5395113&l=0bc29&id=643000012 http://www.************/photo.php?pid=4892612&l=a7d04&id=643000012 http://www.************/photo.php?pid=3742816&l=969b3&id=643000012
Probably because Facebook generates temporary URLs to prevent "hotlinking" just as you are trying to do. They don't want to pay for bandwidth when people view a site other than Facebook. You'll have to upload your pics to your album here as well.
or use photobucket but ok my comments loose hairs are only noticiable by you dont do anything especialy dont put rubber bands at the base if you really need a tidy up for a day (wedding or formal ocasion) simply use 100% aloe gel to smooth out ther frizes now as far as soaps dr bronbners is better then any dreadheadhq crap id boycot anything they sell till they stop selling ewax and lies theres nothing wrong with soft dreads u can also use the deep cleanse listed in the 1st post of the wax removal sticky now lets see those pics
sometimes if dr. bronners is making my hair too greasy looking i just use baking soda and hot water. put a couple spoonfuls of baking soda into a mug and fill it with boiling water, stir and wait (wait long enough that the baking soda is dissolved, and that you can submerge your entire finger in the water- you don't want to scald yourself) then, in the shower, just pour it over your head, rub it in, wash it out. baking soda / water amounts may vary due to how much hair you have. my hair's shorter so it only took that much. just make sure you rinse really well. wash them as often as you feel is necessary. clean hair locks better. dirty hair smells, looks bad and gives us a reputation as stinky dreadheads. heh.
oshin theres no reason to use bioling water, in fact its best if you mix it and pour it rather quickly so just use the water outtas the shower at normal shower temps put the baking soda in squirt in water give 1 quick swirl with your hasnd then pour over your head its most active right away as soon as its made and it disolved fast, u just swirl it to breakl up asny clumps stuck to the bottom
ah ok groovy SE i thought boiling water was necessary to dissolve the baking soda. when i've tried it with shower temp water it hasn't dissolved.
hmm thats odd i never had probs with it disolving, and where are the pics of the virgins? we demand a sacrifice! lol but seriusly use photobucket and post some pics or add em to your gallery..or just include a link to your facebook/myspacfe or something the threads so disapointing without the promiced pics
my ps3 can't cut and paste, so ya'll're gonna have to just check my album. i was able to upload those three pics just fine. thanks!
Looking great! I would advise the deep clense: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=303589&f=209 for washing! It works absolute wonders, cleans and helps them tighten up and go abit harder! Don't worry about the loose hair especially after every wash, the hair will constantly re arrange itself and change, its part of dreads it will settle but its part of locking up. They suit you alot! Good luck Alex
I like the look of your dreads I actually realli like the messy natural look of flyaways and some loose hairs.
i agree they look good aint nuthin to worry biout theyre commin along perfectly dont merss em up by trying to force em to do what u want
