today i went barefoot in coals, mud and tar and my feet are blackened but how do i permently stain em?
It's very difficult to stain them permanently. The nearest i've got is tar stains from barefooting on an old sailing ship, which lasted a long time...
Your feet will stay filthy the more you go barefoot. Hot weather helps a lot. Parking garages and lots, city streets, stadium floors are great places to get filthy feet. Boardwalks are another favorite. Not purposely washing them also helps! Grateful Dead shows were fantastic for not only getting filthy feet, but for meeting others with whom you could compare callouses and color. Mud will only wash off the coal and tar stains. I never considered muddy feet as dirty feet. I only street feet as dirty feet, but that's just my personal definition.
Agree with Barefoot Guy, walking around all summer will make soles black and take a long time to get clean. The places he mentioned really help. Train stations and subways/cars are also excellent for filth.
Barefoot Guy and hillman got great ideas. I was thinking the same stuff. I have heard that stomping grapes to make wine stains feet, but I don't know.
I agree with Barefoot Guy and our other Brothers-in-Feet as well. You'll need to be totally commited to getting and KEEPING your Bare Feet Filthy, Black and Callused. I know because I have been in my Bare Feet for what will be 31 years this coming May of 2009, since I was 16 years old, and I'm proud to say that the bottoms of my Bare Feet are pitch Black. Barefoot Guy also mentioned not washing your Feet, and that definitely works. Learn to take sponge baths, leaving your Feet Dirty, and do this for many months (If Possible), and the Filth and Dirt will become ground-in as it is under my own Bare Feet. Next, keep your Bare Feet Dirty by always going to bed with your Feet Filthy and Black every night. There is a thread here about not cleaning Dirty Feet before going to bed, so check back further, and you'll see that most of us here always go to Bed with our Bare Feet Dirty and even Filthy Black, beacause we also walk Barefoot before we go to bed. Let me and all of us know how you make out. I love Dirty, Filthy Bare Feet!!
Even if they are barefoot...? Oh, bummer. All kidding aside, there are those who think that black soles are a token of barefoot pride... After years of barefooting, my soles stay a dark brown even after washing my feet... that alone is enough of a barefooter's token for me. To each barefooter and his or her feet his or her own... Whatever befits that barefooter's dirty soul, err.. sole, I mean, of course Wiggling happy toes (as long as they are bare... no matter the color on the bottom), ~*Ganesha*~
My post intended no disrespect for those barefooters who choose dirty feet; it just seemed that the OP's request was a bit odd and given their lack of posts, it seemed like a troll to me. As for those who think that black soles are a token of barefoot pride, I've communicated my opinion on the subject clearly here, here and here.
Why would you want to keep your feet permanently stained? I love getting my soles jet black, but I always make a point of cleaning them the morning after. As long as it hasn't rained or someone hasn't cleaned the floors inside the shop, it should take minimal effort for you to get them black again. I find in the summertime if it hasn't rained in more then a week, it takes zero effort to get my soles black.
Interesting discussion. Personally I like having my feet a bit soiled. Jet black is a bit over the top for me. Permanently stained is really hardcore in my opinion, but whatever. I guess liking dirty-anything is hard to explain. For me I think it goes back to when I was younger and self-conscious about my feet. I was always envious of people who could go barefoot nonchalantly. Having soiled soles just sorta indicated they had no hang-ups about being barefoot all day while my feet were encased in shoes, or in the best case, socks only. After having corrective surgery I got over my hang-up about my feet. Having soiled soles just makes me feel like I've finally joined the crowd I used to envy. Maybe that's weird, but that's my take on it.
