If you are worried about the animals or environment than Bush is probably not your guy. There are some good 3rd party candidates that may fill that need for you, though.
Both Bush and Kerry are hunters.

Yeah, dude, Bush is a VERY avid hunter/fisherman... if you're worried about animals and the environment, Bush is DEFINITELY not who you want to vote for. Kerry isn't much better, but he's the lesser of the two evils.

 

they're both hunters. where i'm from, practically everyone's a hunter. makes me not want to date him, but as a president? doesn't sway me.

they may both be hunters, but kerry's environmental record is impeccable. the sierra club, the nation's biggest and oldest environmental organization endorses him - and god bless them, this is one gung-ho-for-the-environment-we-go organization. he is also endorsed by the league of conservation voters - and his ranking within the league is the highest lifetime ranking of all the presidential candidates.

and being good for the environment = preserving habitat = better for animals.

examples of kerry's environmental legislation:
*voted to restrict the building of roads in national forests, as well as voted against additional spending for building roads in national forests.

*and voted to protect california deserts.

*and led a senate campaign to stop drilling in the ANWR.

*aaaaaand repeatedly worked to uphold the value of the clean water and air acts

*promoted higher fuel efficiency standards

*sponsored legislation that would make environmental protections a part of trade negotiations

*aaaaand participated and took seriously conferences like earth summit and kyoto regarding climate.

i could go on. of course i'm sure there are instances where he hasn't been perfect for the environment. but damn, he has a 96% approval rating from the league of conservation voters and that's pretty damn impressive!

i think kerry is more than a little better than bush, he is WORLDS apart! he has one of the best environmental voting records of all time. kerry is definitely what we need for the environment. i guess what you were saying was more about animals, but if bush gets elected, those geese aren't going to have too many places left to live anyway!

I am a member of ducks unlimited, and before you go spouting off at the mouth get your facts straight, DU has saved over 110 million acres of wetlands, and has done great work with conservation. Not to mention what they for for the youth. You are just another idiot that knows just enough to sound stupid.

I didn't say anything bad about DU. I never have. I myself have been hunting, I go with my father. I have no problem with it. I was just informing the person who started the thread that both men are hunters, since she is against it.
