Very different. That is why it is such a special piece. I really love this. It is unique and has its own personality.
the leg is attatched to some highway intersection, but why does it branch out beyond the border of the cross?? as it looks like the corner of a country, and the people playing tennis, pinwheeling the mouth, eyes, nipples, this tear drop to the tit coming from a displaced 3rd eye... While the other foot leads off to be stoned and fractured to the jaws.. the left hand seems to be reaching for a pawn piece.. And the this piece has no halo? While the piece above and the cat shaped one have halos.. I dont think I looked at it look enough to tell you what it means pic quote deleted edit so not to stretch..
well of course the drawing has extremely specific details to as only I might completely understand, but in showing it to everyone I hope to entail a common interest in which people can get whatever they want out of it. Just saying, that everyone who sees it, on this forum and beyond that, will assume their own personal associations and figure out what it means to them. For me it is a symbolically significant piece, to others it might not be, but I ask for appreciation as to not only the work i put into making it but also the importance it has to my life. :cheers2:
Is this a work still in progress? I like it... very imaginative, creative... it shows a playful sense of humor as well. I think it would be a good starting point to a finished oil painting. Google M. C. Escher and browse the images. I suspect you may like what you see.
Yes I love Escher! And I would love to make an oil painting, if I only knew how...I suppose I shall put that on my list of things to learn
reminds me of a particular dali painting too, escher and dali, 2 great artists to be influenced by thats for sure
Dandystree said it already but---not only Escher, but also Dali----I though of Dali the minute I saw it. Great picture!
well, it depends what you mean by "hard". the way i do my drawings is like...whenever i get the "message" or inspiration, it's out of nowhere, so i just start sketching wherever i happen to be. in this case, it was all over on top of math papers. so once i've got the idea down, i can actually sit down later with good paper/pencils and take my time to copy the original sketch, and shade it properly. most of the drawings i do are Extremely tedious, but for some reason i just love putting myself through the obnoxiously unnecessary effort to do them. but, it's always nice when you're proud of a drawing you worked hard on, so no matter how hard it would be, i'd go through the effort for it.
But isn't that the way of the masters? They have all kinds of sketches and drawings and drawn ideas, and then they actually do the real thing from their various ideas and sketches. I think that is great.
