Tropical winter Grow

Hi all,
I hope you all Had a better Holiday than me, mine sucked. Enough crying. I'm glad Santa visited you this season, I don't have a chimney and my dryer vent is clogged so he had no way to get in. I'm glad you got that Bigbud/Northen light gift. I have Northan lights, Crystal, Afgani Kush and ice seeds hanging out. I don't want to mess with seeds anymore but I know eventually I'll be forced to.
Next Sunday my plants are going 12/12, they will have been Vegging for 5 weeks and I don't want Monster plants, this is the exact same vegging time as my last grow. I just turned my scrubber on because I have it. On my last grow there was no odor until I took the stuff out of the box to dry. Maybe it's the strain I'm using or a combination of factors. I'll post some pics a little later, have a great day.

Here are some pictures, I always try to get the first shot with the A/C for a referance point. The top of that A/C is 2 feet, I have plants from 18" to 30" today and in a weeks time they sould be much larger. During flowering these suckers are going to double in height.

Hi All,
Here is my post for today, these gals took off in the last few days and the stretch has begun. My best plants are still the ones I feed manually. (back row). There is a ghetto Co2 maker (5 lbs sugar, Yeast and water) back there but I have no idea what effect it has if anything. I'm planing on leaching each pot before I go 12/12 to remove any salt buildup. The plants are still manageable so it's do it now or do it latter (maybe). Any comments, questions, suggestions or criticism are appreciated.

that looks great! cheers on the ghetto CO2, i used that also. remember to NEVER replace the cap. the bottle will bulge, tip, and be mildly dangerous when opening.

every 2-3 days, put the cap on the co2, give it a big shake, and release the built up gas. this helps the process along a little.

finally, this is the pint where you should implement any planned training. that looks like a great enviroment for sea of green.

 

Hi All,
For an 18 year old you seem very knowledgeable about this stuff. Could you be a little more specific regarding the Co2 maker? It's the dangerous part I'm interested in. That thing is sitting in the back of my box and I don't touch it. It's hard to get to and messy, it has boiled over. If I go for it I'll mess up some plants, I think it's there for the duration of the grow.
As for Sea of Green, I have 12 plants in 9sq feet, I was under the impression that it's 3 plants per square foot and by the time they flower I'll have 3 to 4 foot plants. I've been doing a lot of cutting and pruning I was getting ready to do a SCROG. Have a great New Years.

I hope you all had a good New Years day. As I figured my Gals have grown over that A/C and I’m still bringing up 3 by hand. Tomorrow I go 12/12. I want to address this to Klondike. You’re a smart kid, you know how to write so I’m guessing you’re a decent student. If you have a good mind (and I think you do) don’t waste it, you owe it to yourself. This is a hobby and a dangerous one at that. I know you realize that so be smart and ALWAYS be careful. I'll post my last pictures under MH a bit latter.

 

your plants are looking great, iv just got one growing in a closet at the moment but once my proper lights and other equipment are here i'll be moving to the attic for a more serious attempt. Right now im using very basic lighting but its holding out so far. Just have to hold out long enough for my hps and ballast to get here

 

Hi Again and thanks for the Kudos, here are my pics, I haven't been posting daily but you can still get an idea. I can't stress enough how much that A/C does. I don't think you can get a fan for under $100 that pushes as much air let alone de-humidifying and keeping temps in check. Aside from that the water cooler is another MUST HAVE for me due to my climate although I think it would help in amy climate.

Hi All,
I’m doing fine and I think my plants are also, I like to think of the day you go 12/12 as half time. I switched over to HPS, changed my Nuits for flowering and set the timer for 12/12 tonight. For this grow I’m going to be using Dr. Hornby’s Big Bud additive. It seems as though many people swear by it. As always I’m open to any suggestions, criticism or whatever. Here are some pictures I just took s little while ago.

Hi All,
I hope you all had a good weekend, I put myself out on a limb, my old lady started drilling me about yield and I told her I'm going to pull over 400 grams out of this grow. I know I can do that wet but she wants it dry or as far as she's concerned "it ain't worth the time and effort" . I'm giving up on my Crystal grow, I'm having a hard time getting seedlings to take, I've already wasted 4 seeds. I've also noticed people with a lot more experience than me are having problems and I might as well stick with the bubble gum, my mother plant is still around. So here are some pics for today, these gals are growing big time. Notice the one in training (2nd pic).

Looking sweet as i'd say. Aww what does ya old lady knows just think how much it would cost you to buy off the street? And would ya really know its true history? Hehe and it is nice getting one over the law and bucking the dealers at the same time. I must of got lucky on my crystal got an extra seed in the packet and every one took by germinating between 2 pyrex plates till they split and then planted but you aint missing much looks like yield is slightly down but on other hand it does smell amazing.

I've enjoyed reading your thread man and apart from the pics at the start the plants have come on a treat but can I stress one thing less is best
you can always add but can never take it back when adding neuts.
I normally put my plants in flower and start with ph'd water (6.0/6.2)
then after 7 days mix 25% percent flowering feed I use Canna Terra Flores because it's organic next watering is just ph'd water, week 2 I go to 50% and week three maybe up to 75% at week 4 I add some Bat Guano tea along with the Canna Terra Flores same week 5/6 then flush for at least 14 days with just ph'd water. I hope this help in some small way

The problem with the Co2 maker would be that the gas would build up and burst either the top or the bottle leaving a really messy growroom lol
Co2 enrichment is only good when the lights are on it's wasted when lights out.

Bubblegum is one of my favs and have had a mother on the go now for 7 years she has pink pistils and smells like chewing gum oh and the ladies just love to smoke her turns them on if you know what I mean

Hi All,
Thanks for the responses and my old lady knows whatever she has picked up over the last 6 months. She is always messing around with house plants and she has said in the past it’s just a weed and should grow without all the equipment I’ve acquired. I think she knows better now but she still needs something to rag on. I hate to go off like this because my life is like a soap opera.
I didn’t have any problem germinating the seed, I just couldn’t get it to grow once I put it in the propagation chamber. It’s been cold here and I think that might be my problem. I just got some good news, my insurance company is giving me a new roof so I'm happy over that. The one I have took a lot of damage during the last hurricane.
As far as less is more (sometimes) I think I’ve learned that but you know how it goes with Extra strength this and enhanced that it’s like “Give me enough to almost kill me” like with drugs advertised on TVs, go to the point where a human is dead and back off a little. I’ve learned to give it what it needs, it doesn’t have to be wasted. As far as my nutrients go (liquid Earth) from what I understand it works very well in Coco so I bought the whole line-up and follow the directions (backing off 25%). This is only my second grow and I'm looking to be self sufficient (fat chance) Maybe someday the Big Bud additive will get here so I can use that. One more thing, take a hit for me please.

Afternoon you all,
Here is a post and pictures for today, I concentrated on pics detailing the result of my Fimming and topping. They haven't shown their sex yet but that should happen soon. I can't imaging keeping a Mother plant going for 7 years, mine has been hanging out without a proper place for the last 6 months, I give it a small amount of light 24/7, some nuits and it keeps on growing. Sinse I screwed up with my Crystal seeds, it would put me back a month or more so I'm sticking with Bubblegum. OK boys, have a good day.

Lol she's an arm chair grower we got a few of them here they think ya should be pulling 4oz per plant in a 3month grow cycle lol i wish.

 

Hi to All, I hope you all had a decent weekend as always mine sucked. Anyway I think the plants had a good weekend. Those Gals are really starting to stretch. I’m having a hard time with the PH but I’m getting thru it. I’m using 2 gallons of fluids from the reservoir daily plus what I use to feed my 3 extras. I’ve been told it can’t happen when using clones although I’m keeping a lookout for Hermies. That’s it have a good day.

 

Morning all,
My grow is going great, I have a ton of little buds starting to pop out all over. I've been flowering for 14 days and my plants streched to where some are over 4 feet. Yesterday I might have pinched off one of my cola's, I hope it heals. My PH drops every night, I'm finding it at under 5 in the morning at which time I bring it back up to 5.6 or so. I check it at night and bring it up if necessary. I didn't notice this happening on my last grow. Any comments are appreaciated.

Hi All, as always I hope you had a decent weekend. My grow is going OK, I'm having a bit of a problem with leaks. For whatever reason, sometimes the Autovalves get stuck in the open position and I have a mess to clean up. I have a question regarding Big Bud Nuits. I've been admonished to use it so I am. Currently, I'm backing off my normal Nuits about 1/3 to 600 PPM, I then add Big Bud until I'm at 900 PPM or so. Boy does it smell lousy but if it helps I'll deal with it. I'm including some pics of my Buds, I think it's going good for 17 days into flowering.
