personally- I would not turn my nose up at someones personal beliefs. I have adopted many beliefs from varied religions around the world, and they have definitely led me to enlightenment. I now have knowledge of what I must do personally to gain entry to heaven and not be reincarnated back on the earth. "Love is like a flame- it burns you when its hot." Everything happens for a reason my dear. Know that Love is a universal emotion that defies personal relationships. best wishes for you and yours. peace be with you.
Dreamgirl, May the hurt you are feeling now, be replaced by new happiness in your life. And, I hope you understand that this was something from within your former boyfriend, and not something created by the Tarot, but just triggered by it. And, that sooner or later, something would have triggered it any way. Here is a link to a very good Tarot website if you are still of a mind to explore more about it. It has lots of information, samples of many different decks, and discussion forums as well. Maybe a good place to find the answer to your question about the use of candles. http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/index.html Good luck
I didn't miss it. I was just addressing the part where you said the message could be literally anything. I didn't feel the need to specifically discuss a speculative statement about one kind of thing it could be, since it's essentially covered already. I don't suppose you should call it a result if it was not caused by the draw of the card, but I think I understand what you mean. Still, this puts the cause in the future. I don't think you can just reverse causality like that. I won't disagree with the usefulness of tarot cards - or pretty much anything - as an analytical tool (though I strongly doubt the degree of their effectiveness), but I don't think you can completely dismiss the possibility that people will react to the tarot cards. This is a causal relationship. All things aside, if a person believes what they interpret the cards to say, they are likely to act in ways they wouldn't otherwise as they attempt to prevent or improve their fate. It really isn't. If it was already in his mind, then he might have found another excuse. I suppose there could be something to the tarot cards, but I can't preclude the possibility that it was pure chance, and that we just didn't hear about the many many other people who didn't draw the Tower and had to find some other excuse. Which raises the same question I posed earlier: would he still have done it if he hadn't drawn that card? If the answer is yes, then the card is insignificant, and we can't draw any conclusions from it. If the answer is no, then the card was the cause. Maybe I misunderstand your position, but I think either possibility ends with you being wrong and me still being unsure. I really don't want to argue one way or the other, but I don't think there can be any positive answer regarding the power of tarot cards because it is defined in a way that makes it untestable. In which case you have to either accept it on faith (which is silly), utterly deny it (which is worse), or remain open to both possibilities (which is at least safer if nothing else). Edit: I hope this doesn't come off too abrasive or standoffish. I'm just saying that what you said doesn't really make sense to me. I'm open to the possibility in the presence of evidence, but if everything counts as a message, then none of it is helpful.
