Have you ever been witness in person to something that you feel was supernatural, not explainable by science in other words.

my house in New Orleans was haunted. Me and my parents would all see the same man approaching the window but when you turned to look he'd disappear

In high school I saw one of those "ghost lights."

You park, flash your headlights, and "the light" emerges over the hilltop about 300 yards ahead, gets brighter, approaches, then washes over your car. You hear nothing.

The legend was that a kid on a motorcycle died on this bend in the road, and the light was his "ghost." If you let it wash over you, you "died." It never reached us. The girl driving freaked out, turned on the car, and the light disappeared. So maybe she saved our lives? Should have thanked her, I guess.

I like to think I'm pretty rational. But I know what I saw (I was not under any influence :) ). And I still can't explain it.

I do know these "lights" are common, though. They show up in every American folklore index you can find.

Most of the time. No, I can't see ghosts, but I do feel presences and things like that. I have seen "spirits" a couple of times, only when I'm in the mountains close to Nature. I find it hard to understand how some people think that what we percieve normaly is all there is.

No never. Such things do not exist, and are all products of your imagination.

well, we have one beliver of the old time religion here. that is old fasion hardcore hard science if i have ever seen it!

first off, let me state that, i could not vote in this poll because, the only choices were 'yes' or, 'no.'
none of the post here, so far, have anything at all that deal with or, prove the "supernatural."
every post here, deals with what we social scientists (soft science) call the 'pre-a-natural.'
what that means is, that most likely, these phenomenon are natural and, we just can't explain them yet and, we may never be able to explain some of them yet, just because we cannot explain them does not make them 'supernatural' nor, or they 'natural' they are 'pre-a-natural' or, maybe, pre-a-supernatural.

most people belive in the supernatural. just because one belives in something does not means it is so.
we all have our belifes and, it is extreamly hard for most people too accept new knoweleage.
so far, we have no proof that the supernatural exist. in time, we might prove that the supernatural does exist then, we will all need to expand our models of reality.

now, to answer the question asked here. i MAY have experence the supernatural and not known it. i have had alot of experence with the pre-a-natural though.

3 hours after ingesting lsd; a plethora of supernatural and mystical things happen; impossible to list and describe they are so 'far out'.
I have never had any supernatural experience that didnt involve a drug though.

I don't know if you'd call this "supernatural", but my youngest daughter has an uncanny ability to communicate with animals, including wild animals.

Just as one example, she used to play fetch with a wild raven that lived around our house. He'd fly over, she'd toss a piece of bread in the air, and he'd catch it. Then he'd fly down just above her head and drop it. She'd toss it again, and he'd catch it again. They would play this game for a while, then he'd eat the bread.

I've several times seen wild deer come out of the woods and walk right up to her, even when she was very little ... four or five years old.

And that doesn't even count the innumerable times she tamed or at least calmed animals that were frightened or unmanageable.

There was a stallion who literally jumped out of the stock rack on a pickup truck, and nearly strangled himself struggling to get free. Stevie was the only one who could get near him to calm him down and get him free. She was like 10 years old at the time.

Well, I could tell lots of other stories, but I guess you get the idea ...

Fascinating, caliente. Your daughter should pursue this gift. Native Americans might say she is in touch with the spirit world.

I think, in many ways, all small children still have one foot through that mystical door. We weed it out of them though, drag them into "reality." (Read: "The Catcher in the Rye" "The Jungle Book" "Winnie the Pooh" etc etc.).

I wonder what things they could teach us if we just left them alone.

Oh, she does pursue it. Or rather, she follows where it leads her. For example, people come to her when their pets are lost ... their dog or cat or whatever. I don't know how she does it, but she finds them. Not every single time, but more than just by random searching.

And just last night, we were walking downtown as part of New Year's Eve and encountered some feral cats in an alley. Well, as I'm sure you know, feral cats are very wild and normally won't allow humans to get near them. But Stevie walked right up to them ... she was petting them and talking to them. I don't know what she was saying, but they understood her.

The other people with us were astonished. But she does that sort of thing all the time.

I had what you might call a supernatural experience. It's difficult to explain. It happened when I was born (I think). All I can remember is that I knew that I had just been born and I was surrounded by white light and was in a total state of spiritual bliss. I was thinking to myself how pure and blissful I was feeling. This was a fleeting moment in time. Then, I remember I was in total pain and could only communicate by crying and crying and crying. My mother comforted me and the pain subsided (I guess I must have been teething or something). I remember thinking to myself, what did I do to deserve such pain? I wanted to be back to that blissful state of mind.

Wow Spud! Sort of a reverse near-death experience.

In this foul age of modern society, anything existing even slightly out of the ordinary is a trigger for curiosity.. which initially leads to ignorant assumptions. Supernatural? What's super about anything that differs to what we 'know', and indeed take for granted as reality/truth?

Pushit saw aliens? Was this a stone-crazed mid-moment of hyper perception, or a general eye witness statement of visitors from the cosmos? You'd of thought if this statement held any ground, he'd accompany it with a few details! Shit, I know I would.. but the closest I've come to the su-PRE-natural is a range of animated white lights in the sky over the years; most of which are white or orange/yellow; some of which changed colour - blue/red/green/white.. but I doubt they were anything other than things which have been observed and understood by others in the World. Maybe things I can not explain; but not necessarily unexplainable. However, there is a published book about a UFO landing and series of related incidents that allegedly occured relatively close to my house in the late 80's. 'Alien Contact' by Paul Whitenall and Jenny Randles, the well documented encounters and experiences of Gaynor Sunderland and her family (names probably masked for protection - I've done more than enough research on the topic to form this assumption). It is a very well written, if not slightly concerning read for those with an open mind who live nearby.. and the overall unbiased overtones constantly pushing the reader to make his/her own decisions on the subjects throughout the book is a point rarely seen in other UFO/conspiracy books I have read. Multiple solutions and notions are provided, but the linear message throughout is that their aim is not to influence the popular mind.

Who are we to say what isn't natural anyway? Unless a chemical change is involved; isn't everything natural? I view the topic of ghosts with a great level of skepticism.. but if there was ever concrete proof of the existence of such things, I for one would not call them supernatural! Just not natural in the same way that we have defined the word.. but inevitably still part of nature!
