*shrug* After I was laid off from my last job I decided to postpone the job search for a bit and enjoy the freedom, so I can't say personally. Though, yeah, I hear the job markets a bitch just about everywhere right now.

i applied for a job at a gym - not to train people, not bring in new customers, but to clean the place...i'm gonna say i won't get the job

theres been other jobs i've applied for and heard nothing back...and won't hear anything

no, but i am exhausting other alternatives first before that even enters into my vision of jobs to target

Formertech: almost everyone is haveing a hard time right now, what kinda job u trying to find? there's always openings in the health care field, but it's definately not an easy job

I've been laid off longer than I've ever been laid off in my life. No unemployment, and no sign that the construction industry is going to 'boom' again any time soon


But we get by. My wife still works, 2 jobs, which actually evens out to 1 job. And being that childcare is horrendously expensive, I'm full time child care provider now. And while I don't get paid, it does save us many hundreds of dollars.

 

I've been working the same job for 5 years now, and I've never struggled daily so much to find any work for my employees. I dont even mean work that pays at least decent, I mean work, period. I work for a company that both provides transportation as well as brokers it direct from shippers/cold storages.

 

I've been trying to get a job for months. I even tried getting a job at a seedy motel as a maid....but they hired someone else. At least I still have my gramps' paying me to clean his house.

 

Yeah every job I have applied to has not called back.
In fact half the time now I walk in and ask for an application and they just say not hiring. I got laid off right at the start of things going real south. I was a personal assistant for the president of a construction company. However business was damaged so bad he had to let me go.

 

A friend of mine was laid off 6 months ago. (he's an electrician) He couldn't find any decent work so he applied to go work in Iraq. He got a job, 85k a year to cook food in a cafeteria. Fucking ridiculous that his only choice to make a decent living was to leave his family, go to a foreign country and be a fucking cook.
