I work with a Yankees fan who is from New York. It's great getting on her case. She came in an hour early. Big mistake.
I love it! Red Sox up 2 games to 0! But a real Sox fan knows it ain't over until the third out in the ninth inning of their fourth win. They were up 2 games to 0 in 1986 and look what happened. We'll know soon if the curse is reversed. Anyway I predict Boston in 6 games.
Boston sports teams are like men in relationships: -The Patriots are like the new boyfriend that you really like- he's awesome-but almost too good to be true, so you worry. -The Bruins are like the guy that you just casually dated and you don't really care about him, he's just something to do. -The Celtics are like the relationship that was great at one time but has lost its spark and you always kinda look back and think about how great it was. -And the Red Sox are the hard core emotionally abusive boyfriend who just absolutely beats the shit out of you, but day after day you always go back to him cause you always believe that tomorrow will be different and you just love him too much.
yall know that the series is going to st louis now........ not with the little nook and crannies of boston. cheap little homers in boston, I tell yeah. anyways, we will see. if boston keeps playing defense like they have, they shouldnt be winning so many games.
also, I gotta add, its pretty much bullshit that the series started off in boston. Yall know why it started there right?? because in the stupid allstar game, the AL won. But what did st louis have to do with that?? Jack McKeon was the manager of the NL. And it seemed as if all the cardinals starters were the only ones that acted alive. Its bullshit really. The team with the best record should have home field advantage through the playoffs like it has been for years. Now some little wild card team gets homefield advantage because their league won the allstar game. what bullshit.
also, with homefield advantage, comes the whole DH rule. Boston is used to having a DH in their lineup. St Louis is used to pitching strategically to get to the pitcher. Its a whole different ballgame. Now you are giving a team who had the best record in the regular season a disadvantage because they are used to a pitcher batting for himself, not having some hitter designated just to swing the bat and not take the field.
yeah, but you dont understand how much baseball means to me. its helped me through all my rotten years.
hey, i dont' really know what to think of this new rule of the league that wins the all-star game getting home field advantage...its different for sure, but i think it gives more incentive on trying to win the all-star game now. we'll see in the coming years how this works out. and boston isn't some little wild card team, we were 3 games down from the yankees. houston was 13 games behind st. louis and went to game 7 with st. louis. -- and this isn't just some sport...this is baseball.
