I got a tooth pulled on Monday ( a molar...ouchies still). I need to decide between a bridge and an implant.
Just some backjground to maybe help with your advice giving-I have root canals on both, the tooth behind and the tooth in front. This is the seond molar, lower right.
Anyone have any experience with either one?
Also, I am getting braces (my bottom teeth are croooked); any chance the braces will close the gap as my bottom teeth decrowed?

I don't know how to answer your questions as I've never had that done to me, but yet again another case I can use in defense of just having my tooth yanked instead of a root canal...I just had to modify my eating, lol.

my root canal failed, so I had to get it pulled ):.
I would take a root canal over getting a tooth pulled anyday. This pain is horendous. I had it done on Monday and ran out of viccodin tonight and it hurts!

I would think in your case the less teeth you have the more cash you can make:toetap05:

I need an implant- I am saving up for it- and I think I need one more filling and then that would be the last of my dental work for awhile.
I COULD get a bridge, but my dentist advised against it, because the tooth in front and back are weak, and a bridge would be temporary in that situation and may further damage the surrounding teeth, so best to get the implant now- I will likely have to get one later regardless, in my case. your situation sounds similar though.

My mother is always complaining about her bridge not fitting right. Also they get food trapped under them and you have to take it out to clean it. Not very convenient in public.

My brother has an implant (front upper) and it is just like a regular tooth.

If I needed just one tooth replaced, I would personally go for an implant.

if it's just one tooth, go with an implant, see for me, i'm missing 5 teeth, all of them are in the back, so therefore i've lost damn near all chewing ability, i do need to get out to affordable dentures one of these days and get me some teeth too.

I imagine just getting the tooth yanked in the first place, before the root canal, is likely a lot less painful than a failed root canal and then a tooth extraction. It was pretty tender for awhile, but I don't remember it hurting much at all. I only took the pain pills because fuck, he gave me pain pills. Haha. Granted, compared to the pain of an abscessed tooth, the relief of having it gone far outweighed the pain after pulling it.
