How bad of a scar will a lip piercing leave? I wanna get snake bites but my mom says it will leave permanent scars and I'll regret it eternally, which I prolly would if it leaves ridiculous scars.
It depends on the person. I do not think the avg person gets left with hideous scarring from a small hole like a peircing... it would have to be a nasty unkept infection for the scarring to be really terrible. I HAVE seen some people who had a lip or labret peircing yrs ago-and you can't tell AT.ALL , now. Some people with a small red zit like mark- at worst I knew a girl who took hers out and it just never healed up, but even that was not very visible. I was scared for that reason when I got my labret pierced- as was my mom, but- i have some pretty bad acne scars and doubted i would scar worse then them.
My friend got snake bites while at college, and his mom made him take them out(hahaha). He does have scars, but they're just little red dots which you wouldn't even notice unless they're pointed out.
If you look at the picture in my signature, I bet you can't even tell where I had my monroe pierced. I took it out about 6 months ago, and now you can't even tell there was a scar. But for the first couple months, it just was a little tiny black dot. Now you might be getting your snake bites in a 14g, so it'll likely take longer, but chances are... you won't even be able to tell after a year or two unless you look really really closely.
Ive had and removed 5 different lip piercings in the past, none of the scars are visible unless you get reeeaally close.
my friend's lip ring had to be taken out, and it's really discreet now. at first it might look like a black dot, then a pimple, then...it'll heal and that'll be that.
after I took out my first lip piercing and it closed up, it was a little spot. Not a big deal. If you can't deal with it then don't get facial piercings. Since then I had it redone and I'm still enjoyin' it, good stuffs
depends on many factors, such as: how long you kept the piercing how the healing went/were there any complications what guage it is/was and of course, everyones body is different. i had my lip pierced for a year or two, stretched it to 8g, then left it bare for many months and the smallest it will close is 16g. now i wear jewelry in it sometimes, but i often leave it bare. i have a little scar, but i dont htink its very obvious. it not red, just a little indent and tiny hole below my lip line.
I have two holes in my lip currently that I know will scar badly once I take them out, mainly because I've had them for a while and I am constantly messing with them which has caused them to get a little bigger. However, I had my monroe pierced once upon a time, and you'd need a magnifying glass to tell anything was ever there. I can feel where the scar is with my tongue on the inside, but that's it. I also had my lip pierced once before and it fell out and closed up, and you can't see that at all either. But seriously, it all depends on the person. Some people have very visible scars, others don't.
hahaha. As long as they'd been taken care of, they won't leave a very distinct scar. But if you want them done, then don't take them out, then you don't have to worry about it.
i got snake bites a few years ago and i still have the one side pierced, the other side was giving me problems so i took it out, i still have a scar from it too, and it's been closed for over a year now. it's noticeable but not really bad.
